Self Destruct

✘Chapter 3✘

"'Once you die, you will live' That's what the girl said as we were falling." I said to the police officer.

"Dakota, how could a little girl had said that if you were the last person in the building?" he asked

I am now in the hospital for my injuries, or lack of. The paramedics said that it was a miracle that I am still alive. Apparently,  not all 16 year old girls survive in a burning school building. Well, that shows how well the firemen do their job.

My doctor then chose that time to walk in with his annoying clipboard.

"How are you feeling Kody? " he asked. Just so you know, That's Joe, my "dad" . The only reason I put "dad" like that is because he is one of my Foster dad's. Yes, my dad is gay and has a life partner. Daddy's  name is Tom. Yeah, their names are so original, right?

"I'm fine dad, where is daddy?" I ask.

"He is at Taco bell, picking up food" he said looking at his irritating clipboard. "Kody,  please tell me Why you choose the stay in a burning building when you know you could have died.?! What were me and dad supposed to do then?" he asked looking up from the clipboard. He had un-shed  tears in his eyes.

"I know dad, I'm sorry but the little girl could have died." I said.

"What little girl baby? You were the last to get removed and when you were removed, the building was burned to the ground.! " my dad exclaimed.

"That's what I'm trying to say!" said the cop who I forgot he was there.

"We didn't  ask for your two cents." my dad angrily said. "What happened?  Is their someone you won't tell me about? " dad asked, turning to me.

"No dad, I was trying to save the li-- "

"The Little girl, got it." he interrupted .

I roll my eyes,  getting agitated that nobody believes me.

"Dakota, is that all that happened?" asked the cop.

"Yes, pretty much." I said flicking my hair out of my eyes.

"Okay, Well, here's my card, so if you have any additional statements please call. Have a nice day." the cop says walking out of my hospital room.  As he was s out, in walks in my other daddy, Tom.

" Hi baby, how are you?" he asked,

"Good, you?" I ask

"I was actually talking to your dad, but Thanks for letting me know." my daddy Tom says smiling.

"You little nutcup, don't do that to her, she almost died." Said Joe, hitting daddy on the back of the head.

"I was just kidding babe, of course I know she almost died. I was about to sell her 5SOS tickets online." he said laughing.

I TOTALLY forgot I had my 5SOS tickets, front row at that. Damn, I almost risked my seats; Note to Self:  don't risk life before seeing 5SOS.

"Uhhh,  No you weren't.  Those are mines and I'm taking Loxx with me. To get those you'd have to kill me first." I said jumping up to grab some Taco Bell.

" Well you were almost there so, I almost had my $400 back." my dad says laughing.

"Hah, this is Why I love you, you can put up with me." I said laughing while biting into my taco.

"Well guys, I have to go finish up. I'll see you guys at home" Joe said kissing my head.

"Alright babe, Oh, and remind me to write a letter to her principal for leaving her in a burning building." Tom said kissing my dad, the Joe left.

"So, baby girl, tell me how you're feeling but let's go and drive home. I have a feeling it's going to be a long story." Tom said laughing.

As we start walking out the hospital, I see a glimpse of a girl with pale skin, long red hair, and seems like, purple... eyes. I never been purple eyes. She was staring through a closed door.

I waved at the girl and turned to my dad. As we made our way past the threshold of the hospital I look back instead and see the same girl but this time, on fire.

"It takes two to keep a secret but it takes one to rise to the top. Maybe it's time you rise to the top?" the little girls said.

I then walked out the building to be met by a blinding light.
