Gerard Way on possible MCR reunion

Recently on an interview with the Guardian, Gerard Way (aka "The Emo Demigod as they called him). Gerard talked about the Umbrella Academy as well as the speculated My Chemical Romance reunion and how MCR was when the band was going on. Here are some things he said.

While talking about the writing of Umbrella Academy, Gerard mentions that “It’s a little autobiographical, in terms of being about a dysfunctional family, which is a lot like being in a band.”

When talking about the chill life Gerard leads now, which is quite the opposite of what one would imagine of a rock star.

“I like being super-creative all the time, and, unfortunately, when you’re in a really big band you’re actually doing a lot of boring stuff, like being on the road and missing your family. A lot of it is business,” he says “Now I get to stay home with them, and make my comics and sit in my office, and I don’t have to leave the house, or those people.”

Gerard also speaks about things that things that started leading to the breakup. 

"When things start to succeed and go really well,” says Way, “that’s when a lot of people start to have an opinion and that’s when you run into struggle.” The Black Parade had been a huge success and Gerard said that “everybody had a fucking opinion about what MCR should be. So it made it difficult to figure out what direction to take next. You get caught up in this trap of ‘Is it ever gonna be good enough." He also states that it wasn't just fun anymore.

Gerard also explained how politics affected everything and how MCR just wasn't needed anymore.

Talking about the break up and possible reunion, Gerard stated that they continuously get offers to reunite and he thinks it's nice that people care but while he misses playing with the boys, he doesn't think the reunion will happen.
