That was a month ago. I had moved into the spare bedroom and started my mural. I worked on it religiously, I used a single wall and on it I drew and then painted a landscape of a cozy house. A cottage really. It was my adaptation of “Make a Wish Cottage” By Thomas Kinkade. Harry and Lou had gotten me a massive king sized bed, a black dresser, a white desk and a few white or black fluffy chairs. My orange laptop sat on the desk with an orange reading lamp as well. I had decided to paint the walls a light vibrant blue with a butterfly theme. The carpet's white and the door as well. I finished the mural today, now it's 4 o'clock. I had cleaned the entire flat once a week. Harry and I snuggled still, and kissed a few times. He never wanted me to go outside even though my ribs had almost completely healed. The doctor said in about another week he could give me the all clear to go and start exercising again. I missed my workouts. I cleaned my hands in the now green bathroom. Harry and I had spent a weekend turning the ugly purple and orange bathroom into a nice green one. We had spent a lot of that time painting each other but eventually we got it done.
“Julia! We're back early!” I heard Harry yell. “Where are you?”
“Here!” I shouted back, tucked a piece of my hair back into its messy bun and walked out. The boys were fooling around in the living room.
“I finished!” I announced throwing my arms up in the air. The boys cheered.
“Can we see it?” Liam asked me. I hadn't let them in the room at all since I started the mural. I had assembled all my furniture myself, the bed, everything. I nodded and they followed me down the hall. I walked in with them trailing behind me.
“Ta da!” I smiled. They oo'd and aa'd and congratulated me on the mural and the room. I ushered them out and we all walked back to the kitchen.
“I'm hungry!Cook for us Harry!” Louis whined. Harry laughed,
“What do you want?” He asked us.
“Tacos!” Niall shouted. We all nodded in agreement and the boys quickly ran away to the living room before Harry could put them to work.
“Thanks for offering to help guys!” Harry yelled at them. I laughed at him as he turned to start cooking.
“I'm going to go for a walk Harry.” I told him, standing up.
“I don't think that's such a good idea.” He said turning to face me. I crossed my arms over my chest.
“Why not? My coughing stopped 3 days ago, the doctor says i'm almost fully healed.” I retorted.
“ALMOST. That's the key word there. I still don't think its safe. Just wait until after dinner and I’ll go with you.” He pleaded.
“No.” I answered sharply. “I want to take this walk alone. I haven't been out of this apartment to do anything other than visit the doctor in weeks! I'm going out, and i'm going out NOW.” I twirled and walked out of the kitchen. I grabbed my trench coat and shrugged it on.
“Julia wait.” Harry shouted, running after me. I slammed the door in his face and ran down the stairs instead of taking the elevator. I emerged out into the cool air and glanced up. Cloudy as usual. Smells like rain too. I started walking, away from that building. Anywhere but there.
“Julia come back!” I heard Harry yell behind me. I picked up the pace, almost running now. I heard him give chase just as the sky opened up and it began to pour like there's no tomorrow. I was soaked in seconds. I ran for as long as I could, but Harry just got closer and closer. I hadn't exercised in weeks, and as I had told Harry, the doctor said that I was ALMOST healed. He grabbed my arm and held on tight as I struggled and turned to face him.
“Let me GO Harold!” I screamed at him.
“No, Julia listen, I just don't think you should be out alone, go back now. You just got over being sick and your out in the rain-” He began.
“Just shut up! Shut up!” I interrupted.
“Go back Julia!”
“No! You don't control me, why are you being such a god damn ass right now?!” I panted, still twisting. Harry caught my other arm and pulled me closer to his chest. His wet hair dripped into my face.
“Lets just go back!” He said gently.
“No!”
“Why don't you get it?” He screamed back at me. “You were MUGGED!” I began to cry.
“You were MUGGED for God's sake and you just don't damn well seem to care! It could happen again! You could get HURT again!” He half sobbed half yelled at me.
“Harry. I'm fine, I’ll BE fine. I can take care of myself. You can't try to lock me up forever in your flat because I was mugged.” I soothed him. He loosened his grip on my wrists and put his head down.
“I just want to keep you safe..” He whispered brokenly. I buried my head in his chest.
“Julia. Will you move in with us? Permanently? I really like you, will you. Will you be my girlfriend?” He mumbled, still not looking me in the eyes.
“Yes, Harry, I will be your girlfriend. I know you will never leave me alone, so I might as well say yes to moving in with you and Lou as well.” I laughed cried. He looked me in the eyes finally. Those beautiful green eyes were full of happiness. He smiled at me, wide, and leaned in and kissed me. He gently placed his hands on my face, thumbs stroking my cheeks and kissed me. I tangled my fingers in his wet locks and we pulled apart gasping and blinking water out of our eyes.
“I think I love you.” Harry murmured to me. I paused, he loved me?
“I think I love you too.” I replied without thinking, he smiled at me and grabbed my hand. We started walking back to his flat hand in hand, and I felt like dancing in the rain.
