Welcome, young cephalopods, to the first volume of the inkling encyclopedia. Within these pages, you will find important information about our mysterious world. To help keep things organized, I would like to take this time to better explain the different sections of this book.

Important Seakind

It comes as no surprise that there are several important seakind that populate our world. Some of them are historical, while others still walk among us. They're quite interesting to learn about, and if any of you young fish have to write papers about them for your schooling I'm sure you'll find these sections quite helpful. Plus, there are some great facts to learn about them out there! I'm sure that you'll impress many other residents of Inkopolis with your worldly knowledge.

These sections will include the seakind's name, age, gender, gear, weapons, and physical appearance. They will also have a list of likes and dislikes, friends, foes, trivia, and some memorable quotes. We'll also be including photos and artistic renderings of them for your viewing pleasure.

Species Spotlights

Not only are there many important figures in our world, but there are also a variety of species! This makes Inkopolis much more diverse, thus enriching our great city. These articles will include the name of the species, the animal that they evolved from, a physical description, interesting facts, and images.

Scientists are constantly investigating possible new species, and we encourage any who are interested in helping to reach out. If you have any evidence of a new species, let us know and we will launch a field study as soon as possible. If that results in us discovering a new species, then we will be sure to credit you for your help.

Unique Terminology and Concepts

There are so many unique concepts about our world that differ from the world of the pre-seakind era. Our language is so much more complex than that of humans as well. Thus, I think it is important to include listings of these things. I'm sure some of you fine seakind are well-versed in the rather primitive human languages, so you will most likely find these sections interesting. In my research, I have come across a word humans used that I think sums up these things perfectly: headcanons.

If you have any sort of requests for things to be added to future editions of this encyclopedia, please send a letter to our editors in the online comments section! Due to the fact that young seakind read this, we currently do not accept requests relating to adult content or NSFW material.
