Species Name: Humboldt Inkling
Evolved from: Humboldt squid, otherwise known as the jumbo flying squid, jumbo squid, diablo rojo, or red devil.
With their striking red tentacles and slightly longer teeth, the Humboldt inkling certainly stands out. Members of this species are renowned for having a volatile temper, and it does not take a lot to set them off. Despite this, they can be rather friendly when approached carefully. Strong muscles in their legs allow them to recover from a super jump by springing in any direction immediately upon landing. Most noticeable among their natural abilities, however, is their ability to flash-talk. They will quickly flash a variety of colors on their tentacles in certain ways and in specific patterns to communicate with other members of their kind. It is unknown what they are saying, and the Humboldt inklings certainly aren't going to be spilling their secrets any time soon. The current theory is that they are exchanging battle plans, but as of now we will have to continue our research.
