Species name: giant octoling

Alternate name: pacific octoling

Evolved from: north Pacific giant octopus

With a height of six feet even, members of this species are the tallest octolings alive. They naturally are a light tan in color, though many of them have taken to dying the tips of their long tentacles in striking colors to help them stand out more. Older giant octolings also have slight frills on their tentacles and mantle. These are thought to be an evolutionary relict, as scientists have yet to determine what purpose the frills serve. Currently, our best working theory is that the giant octolings' ancestor used these frills to help camouflage themselves from other sea creatures.

In battle, giant octolings are not much different from the giant inklings. They both are very strong,  but not as fast as their smaller compatriots. Heavy weapons do not slow them down as much as they would with other species of seakind. It is quite common to see them wielding weapons such as the hydra splatling, the e-liter 3k, and the dynamo roller.

The following members of society are giant octolings:

Lilith Seagrass, a squadron commander in the octoling army during the Great Turf War.
