"I can't believe Carly left you alone for a week, is she okay?"

"She said there was a big business meeting in France she had to sort out I don't know, but you can stay over if you want?" I suggested as I put on my dress, "what do you think about this one?" I haven't ever really worn a dress before and after telling Grace, she bought me 3 in my size and a pair of heels to match them all.

"No, why did I even pick that for you, I like that give me that!" I laugh at her response I don't think I suit pink anyway.

I put on the little black dress, that I like the look of, the first was given to me because Grace wanted me to look like a model. I walk out of my room and Grace nods her head with an eyebrow raised and a smirk. "Girl, you better work." I laugh and look in the mirror.

"I still feel so dull. The dress is nice but I feel like it's wearing me..."

"Oh we are going to fix that don't worry I brought my hair and makeup bag, I got you covered." She said the last bit in an American accent which made me think how cliche this all is.

After an hour and a half, I guess we are done?

My hair is straightened which looks different to my usual deep brown waves. My eyes look more dark green than hazel with the eye makeup circling my eyes.

"I think I'd like to start wearing makeup now," I said impressed, I felt confident.

"Your eyelashes are the best I've ever seen, I wish I had those." She said brushing my hair. I smiled feeling beautiful and ready for the night, "right let's go then!"

The club was full like any other Friday night and while Grace was loving it, I felt so out of place. She pulled me out on the dance floor finally and we danced to a mixture of songs, letting the alcohol pour down our throats. It felt good to let go and not worry. I felt normal. I felt my phone vibrate and saw it was from Carly, when texting back a stranger pushed me forward and as if in slow motion my phone falls to the floor and other strangers feet begin to walk all over it. As soon I feel like I could reach out and get it another picks it up.

I look up to see the stranger and when I do they are staring right back at me. All of a sudden I feel a wash of happiness run its way over me, the whole room had gone silent and I was lost in him. His shining blue eyes brushed up brown hair, a slight stubble beard grazing his cheeks, upper lip and chin framing his perfect lips beautifully-

"Is this, your phone?" His voice was strained and all of a sudden all the noise had filled the room again, I had composed myself from whatever that was.

I nodded "yes thank you-" I reach out and grab it and he pulls it back.

"Can't be too careful, prove it." His head gestures to outside and before I can reply he is walking over to the doors.

I catch up with him and join him outside. "What do you mean proof, I was the only one on my hands and knees trying to get it?"

"Well a thank you would be nice," he winced and his tone was cheeky. "Looks like your phone is fucked." He showed me the screen, green pink and blue colours were on the screen and it was cracked. I saw a small piece of my phone's lock screen along with Carly's name.

"Shit, no, no, no! Carly is going to kill me!" I grab the phone trying to click on the message.

"Nothing sucks like breaking your phone I know." He sympathizes, I scowl at him.

"No you don't understand my foster mother gave me this phone so I could stay in touch with her she's away and she's going to be worried if I don't get back to her." I sit down on the nearest chair and put my face in my hands with frustration. The handsome stranger sits beside me.
