The deciding shot

Chapter 22

The time passed, and passed by fast. Warhawks won games and lost games. We had a good team. I lost contact with Ashley and didn't try to prose it because I I knew it would only turnout bad for her.

This was the championship game against Woodson High school. We were playing for district champs. Hopefully going to regionals... I'm not gonna lie, I'm scared. All of Woodson and all of Madison are gonna be there.

This shit is scary, especially since I'm a freshmen... I couldn't even breathe. Not when I saw that one person. The person who had forgotten about me.

As the team got to Woodson all the girls started becoming jittery, and I felt the same.

As I got off the bus I saw that the other team was warming up, shit we are late!, I could barely even sit still to get my shoes on..

As I finally achieved the goal of getting my shoes on and managing enough courage to even wear the jersey, I still had to talk to the team... I was scared... Way to scared...

I cleared my throat and got their attention.

"Girls," I squeaked. "We all have come along way to just be here. So I say we play our asses off and get one hell of a lead, if we can, and with this thing! I have faith in everyone. We can do this. All those other games we played were shit compared to this. We have the chance and the determination to win, so let do it!" I cheered. The girl looked up at me and clapped and cheered along with me.

"Warhawks on 3!"

"1..."

"2..."

"3..."

"Warhawks!!!" With that we filed out on to the court to practice. Once people started to file in we stopped and sat on our benches...

The refs called me over along with the other team captain for Woodson. He went over so shit and then told us to shake hands.

"Good luck and good game." I smiled.

"Same." She said with a light voice. With that the game started.
