Chapter 43

Ethans pov
I miss Emma so much, you have no idea how happy I was that her mom called me this morning, when she did I drove there immediately, it's a five hour drive but I made it less than that, emma landed in Boston at around noon but I got there at like 2, Emma tried to FaceTime me but I couldn't answer because I was kinda in her room, I heard the front door open and I grabbed the little golden retriever puppy and picked up the roses, I heard Emma coming up the stairs, she was screaming as always, but it's cute when she gets surprised, she opens the door and I smile, she opens her eyes and she runs and jumps onto me like a monkey,
"What are you going here!?" She asks
"I missed you," I say and kiss her,
"I missed this." I say
"Oh my gosh, I missed you so so much."
"Oh let me take a picture!" Her mom exclaims, I honestly forgot she was in here, she pulls out her phone, she's holding the roses while I'm holding the puppy, her mom takes like a million pictures, she sends them all to Emma and goes downstairs, Emma and I lay on her bed, we're just looking at each other, then all of a sudden the puppy jumps up at the bed and starts licking the crap out of us, after 5 minutes we finally calm him down and he falls asleep at the end of the bed,
"What's his name?" I ask
"I don't know, I'm supposed to name him but idk what is should be." She says
"Well, let's figure it out."
"Wait, Ethan, I have the perfect name,"
"What is it?"
"Grant."
"Haha, that's my middle name"
"Yeah, that's the point," She says and laugh
"So while I'm here, I've got a piece of you with me."
"It perfect, I have to leave soon though."
"Ethannn," She complains
"I don't want you to."
"I know you don't want me to, but I have to. I'll see you in less than 48 hours,"
"I can stay for a bit longer, don't you need to put those clothes away?"
"Yeah, I guess." She says, we get up and grab all her million shopping bags and bring them to her closet, she's got a walk in closet, but this one you don't have to go through the bathroom to get to it like her old house, we dump them out onto the floor since it's clean, we take the tags off and start hanging them up,
"Emma, do you really need this many clothes?" I ask
"Hey, I didn't ask to go shopping, I was asked" she says, when we finally put all the clothes away I look at my phone,
"It's 3:30 I have to leave at 4, okay?" I say
"Yeah, cuddle time?" She asks
"Of course," we walk to her bed and Grant is still sleeping there, we lay down, her bed is so comfortable, she turns toward me, I pull her towards me and hold her, grant makes his way to us and gets between us, we sit there petting him till I had to leave,
"Emma, for real this time, I have to leave."
"Fine, I guess I'll let you go, but I will see you Sunday." We walk downstairs and Grant follows us to the living room,
"Hey guys," Her mom says
"Awh, Ethan, are you leaving?" She ask, her dad is sitting next to her mom, this is like the first time I've seen him in person,
"Yeah, unfortunately, I gotta get back to my family though," her dad puts down his book and looks at me, I feel intimidated.
"So Ethan, your close with you family?" He asks
"Yeah, I would say so."
"So you live in New Jersey?"
"I don't, my family does, my twin brother and I live in LA."
"Ah, I see, it's nice to see you make Emma so happy, I hope you stick around for a while."
"Yeah, me too. But I gotta go, it was nice meeting you, thank you for letting me come here."
"Anytime." He says.
"Oh, before you leave," her mom says
"What'd you two name the dog?"
"We named it Grant," Emma says,
"That's perfect, where'd you come up with it?"
"It's my middle name."I say,
"Well, I love it" her mom says and Emma grabs my hand and she walks me out, then we walk to my car and talk,
"I think my dad liked you." She says
"Really? I thought he hated me, he actually scared me."
"Yeah, he is scary, but he didn't act the way I thought he would."
"What do you mean?" I ask
"Well, your my first boyfriend, so I thought he would've been more strict about having you over."
"Wait, I'm your first boyfriend?!" Woah
"yeah, I've never even been to a public school to meet anyone, Hannah's been my only friend since I was born" she says
"So you were a virgin when I met you?" Shocked
"Yeah, are you surprised?"
"Well, Yeah, you- you- how do i put this.. did it good?" We start laughing so loudly, I'm sure everyone heard it, but we made it to my car eventually, I parked down the street so I drove her back to her house.
"Ethan, I don't want you to leave."
"I'll see you in two days, and I have to leave before the sun goes down."
"Okay, if you have to."
"I do, I love you, see you soon."
"Byee, love you." She says and gets out of the car, I watch her till she gets inside, then I start to drive back to Jersey, I've got a long drive ahead of me. Not even 10 minutes later Emma FaceTimes me,

Um, so Grant told me he missed you. She shows Grants little face

Aww, I don't know the next time I'll see that little guy, he's so cute, ugh, I miss him, but is that all?

Yeah, that's all.

Okay, I'm driving, I'll call you when I get there.

Emmas pov
When Ethan showed up to my house I was incredibly shocked, I wasn't expecting that, I knew I wanted to see him but I also knew I could've waited two more days to see him, but when he was holding me I felt so safe, and I didn't want him to leave. I thought of so many excuses when he left to call him, luckily Grant jumped on my bed, I FaceTimed Ethan and showed him Grant. Today Ethan had his bright smile, the smile I've missed, it's going to be devastating when his dad actually passes and I won't see his bright smile for a long time. I've only met his dad twice, I hope I get to see him one more time, I'm going to be at Ethan's house for a week and a half I think, and I'm sure there's going to be times when they just want family time like without me, and I'm almost 99.98% sure Bryant will be there the whole time I am. I'm bored sitting in my room so I do some editing for 2 or 3 hours, then I go downstairs,
"Hey dad, wheres mom?"
"She went to the office to check on people, she'll be back shortly, anything I can help you with?" He's never been this nice to me before
"Nope, just curious." I turn around and almost walk away,
"Emma, will you have a seat with me. I wanna talk."
"Sure," I turn around and sit on the bar stool in the kitchen while he's looking at paper on the Kitchen island,
"What's up, dad?"
"Its just that I've noticed, you and Ethan are really close,"
"Yeah and?"
"Ethan seems like a really good guy."
"And he is."
"That's good, Ive got an odd question"
"Ask away." I'm scared
"Are you and Ethan having sex?"
"DAD! I'm not talking to you about this. Nope, I'm leaving."
"So you are?"
"Why do you care,"
"Well, I don't want you to get hurt, your my little girl, I don't want to see you sad when the day comes, you don't know if he's using you, he's an 18 year old man, your 17."
"I don't think it will happen anytime soon, and he's definitely not using me for sex dad."
"Okay, are you guys always prepared?" I get off of the chair,
"I'm leaving, I'm not talking about this." I laugh and walk up to my room.
