GHOST WORLDTHERE WAS A STUPID event being held in the town which Alaric forced Aria to go with him and Jeremy. Everyone was hanging lanterns to the trees, smiling as they did so. Carol started her speech for the night. Aria folded her arms and tuned it out, not wanting to be here.
Where the hell was Elena?
She was supposed to be there too, she thought. "As a long-time member of the historical society, I am especially proud to be kicking off this years festivities. Thank you, volunteers. Tonight, we turn off our town's lights, and fire up our lanterns in honour of the night of illumination started by our founder's 150 years ago. Here's founding member Tobias fell with a history lesson." Aria scoffed, "Boring."
Alaric nudged her in the side. Everyone applaud when Tobias went up on stage. Aria forced herself, and faked a smile. "What are we doing here?" Jeremy asked, bored of this event already. "Yeah, I can ask the same thing," Aria said. "Tobias fell is the head history department. I didn't have a choice." Alaric said.
"All right, that explains what you're doing here," Jeremy said. "Well, I'm the one who can fail you if you both don't help me out." Aria faked a gasped.
"You'd do that to your own girlfriend?" He shrugged.
"Hey. Sorry I'm late, what did I miss?" The other Gilbert showed up, late, obviously. "You didn't miss anything," Jeremy chuckled. Elena stood next to her twin. "The first illumination was held in celebration with the newfound prosperity that Mystic Falls enjoyed after the war," Tobias began. Jeremy suddenly laughed. Aria and Elena furrowed their eyebrows. She shrugged. "What's so funny?" Elena asked. "Nothing," Jeremy replied. "Okay..." Aria muttered.

Jeremy, Elena, Alaric, and Aria are sitting outside of Mystic Grill. "Hey, Jer. I need you to help me with something." "What's up?" Jeremy asked. She put one of Stefan's journals on the table. "I've been going through Stefan's old journals. Every single time he's gone off the rails in the past, his best friend Lexi has been the one to bring him back."
Aria sighed. "Where is she now?" Alaric asked.
"She's dead," Aria said. "And you want me to try and reach her, don't you?" Jeremy asked her. Aria only met Lexi a few times. She remembered the day she died. Stefan was devastated. It was a tragic night. "I thought that if I knew how she did it maybe she could help," Elena shrugged. "I don't even know if she's on the other side." "Is that what it's called?" Aria asked, furrowing her eyebrows. "That's what Ana calls it. It's not like there's a official brochure or anything."
