THE MURDER OF ONE

THE TWINS AND CAROLINE were in the woods talking, waiting. Stefan apparently wanted to meet them there for something. "Alaric Saltzman killed my father?" Caroline asked, folding her arms. "I can't expect you to be ok with this. But at least these herbs that Bonnie giving him they're healing him and they're keeping the dark side buried." Aria tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, pursing her lips.

"Yeah, and that's supposed to make everything ok?"

"No. Caroline, it's not ok. It's horrible. And I feel horrible about it, but... he's a victim of something supernatural. He didn't ask for this. It just happened to him. Just like Bonnie's Mom. I mean, she didn't ask to become a vampire, and... neither did Stefan... or Tyler..." "Or me." Aria sighed. "Can we talk about something other than my ex boyfriend turning into a psycho, please?" Caroline frowned. "Or you," Elena said, ignoring Aria's answer. "None of us asked for this. Who would I be if I... turned my back on any of you?" Caroline takes her by the shoulder. "Oh, Elena Gilbert. Saviour of the cursed and the damned."Aria chuckled, and the girls smiled. "Hey. What's with the uh, cryptic secret meeting text?" Matt asked, joining them. "I don't know. Stefan just said to meet here." Elena said.

Stefan and Damon arrived. "Where's Bonnie? Texted her, too." Stefan said. "Uh, Bonnie's Mom bailed on her. Again. So I think we should leave her out of this one." Caroline said. "What are we doing here?" Aria sighed. "We found some more white oak. Long story. Wait for the movie," Damon said. "Hang on. White oak? You have a weapon that can kill Klaus?" Aria asked, folding her arms. "Nope. We all have a weapon." Stefan said. He dropped a duffel bag on the floor, and piles of the stakes dropped out of it. Aria's eyes widened, and she bend down to pick one up.

"This is amazing," she said smirking, twirling it in her hands. "We finally get to shove a stake through Klaus heart."

-

"Klaus has always been one step ahead of us. But now we have the advantage. We're all armed, and they are linked. Meaning we only need one to kill one of them. We need to seize the opportunity, which means we need to prepare for every opportunity," Stefan spoke. Aria nodded. "Scenario number one..." Damon catches Elena. "You are to play Klaus." Aria let out a chuckle. "Ok," Elena nods.

Damon moved Elena to the middle and Damon didn't let go of her right away. Aria cleared her throat, while Elena gave him a look. "Rebekah is our target. So we'll distract her and caught her off guard. To do that, we need to keep Klaus separate and occupied. Caroline?" Damon gave her a look, and Caroline looked at him. "Why do I always have to be Klaus bait?" Aria laughed. "Because he's obsessed with you."

Everyone looked at her, and she shrugged. "Am I Right or right?" "She said it, not me. But for right now, we need you to play Rebekah. We'll use the quarterback to distract her. Just keep her talking," Damon said. "How." "Act interested. She's lonely and desperate." Damon said. Aria rolled her eyes.

"Clearly," she spoke, everyone's eyes landed on hers.

"She slept with you." Elena laughs.

"Beefcake holds bombshell, I come up from behind her, grab her arm like this..."

"Ow!" Caroline yelled, when Damon catches her from behind. Stefan goes towards her with a stake.

"Which gives me one time for good shot. Got it? Good." Caroline pushes him. "So we all have one stake, we keep it hidden and we look out for any opportunity that we have," Stefan said. "No last minute attacks of pity or for any of them," Damon said, meaning towards Elena. "Don't worry about me. Not after what happened to Bonnie's Mom."
