BEFORE SUNSET

ARIA WOKE UP THE next morning in her own bed. She could feel the tears start to stream down her face, and she tried so hard not to cry. How could she not? The love of her life was dead. He was gone for good. She'd never be able to see him again. She let the tears fall from her eyes and continued to cry letting her sobs echo throughout her room. She sat up, putting her face in her hands, and then got out of bed. She trudged to the bathroom slowly. She ran the tap and washed her face with cold water. She dug through her drawer and took two anxiety pills that she used a while ago and from when her parents passed. After the washroom she went back into her room and laid in her bed, crying herself to sleep.

-

When she woke up it was around the afternoon. She could smell the fresh paint from Elena and Jeremy painting aunt Jenna's old bedroom, and scrunched her eyebrows together. She sat up, not wanting to go downstairs, but got changed into a pair of leggings, sweatshirt, sneakers, and brushed her hair and tied it into a ponytail. Aria trudged downstairs, her head looking at her feet that stomped on the ground. She ended up in the kitchen to grab a glass of water and granola bar. She was going to go back upstairs until the doorbell rang. She went to the door. Opening the door she swung it open and Damon stood there with Bonnie and there was a large bite mark out of her neck. The brunettes eyed widened. She dropped her granola bar on the floor. Damon looked at her, then at Bonnie. "We have a problem."

-

"The fuck do you mean he turned? I thought you were guarding him!" Aria yelled at Damon. "Don't blame me, Aria. Blame Bonnie the blood bank. She fed him." Aria narrowed her eyes at the witch. "What the hell is he talking about? Never mind, I can't deal with this right now!" She took off upstairs, slamming the door shut behind her. She locked it and went over to her bed sitting down, running her hand across her forehead. "Fuck!" She screamed. Her phone started ringing then, the caller ID said Alaric.

"What the hell?" She whispered, and answered the call. "Whoever this is, it's is not funny. I will go to the police and get this number traced and I'll kill you." She snapped. "Well, who else would it be?"

"Alaric?"

-

"Listen closely. I'm at the school. I have Caroline if you wanna keep her, alive. And I need you and your sister to come down here right away. If you tell anybody where you're going, I'll kill her." Aria's heart raced, and she hung up the phone running into her twins room who was thinking about what to write in her journal. "Elena, we have a problem, and we need to leave now." Elena rose from her bed.

"What kind of problem?"

-

Aria shakingly entered Alaric's old classroom.
