I landed flat on my back, on a glass table. Yes, I broke the damn table. I watched as Andy and Lucas came running out wearing only sheets and towels.
"Westin!" Andy yelled running down to me. She came closer and knelt to me. "Stay with me, you're gonna be okay." She was crying. "You're gonna be fine." She looked up into the crowd of people staring at us. "Someone call 911!" She yelled frantically.
I couldn't stop looking at her. Even when I knew she was just having sex with my best friend, I wanted her to be mine. I wanted to be in this moment forever, with Andy only giving a damn about me. Before I knew it, I was being wheeled off into an ambulance. Sure I fell off a 30-foot balcony, but could it be that bad.
"Sir, please. Let me go with him." Andy was now begging the officer.
"Miss, are you family or a significant other?" He asked. Andy shook her head and the officer walked away.
Lucas came up behind her and wrapped his arm around her shoulders. She leaned into him, crying into his chest. I closed my eyes, hoping I could go back to the moment she was with me. I thought of that moment for a long time.
My ears rang and as soon as they stopped I could only hear one thing. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Oh dear lord shut that off. I opened my eyes and found Andy had fallen asleep with her head on my bed. I wanted to touch her, so she could hold me for a minute. I heard Lucas's footsteps from the hall and closed my eyes. He got closer and closer and soon I felt Andy's head rise from my bed.
"Hey." She said sleepily. Stretching her arms out onto my leg.
"How's he doing?" Lucas asked, not giving a damn about me.
"Still Asleep. He'll wake up soon, it's only been a few hours. Thank you for the coffee." She sipped.
I slowly opened my eyes wanting to see my angel's eyes. She turned to look at me as I slowly crept them open. Her smile lit up the whole room. "Hi." She said quietly.
"Hey." I croaked. She beamed and tucked a piece of my hair behind my ear.
"How are ya doing?" Lucas asked, but I wasn't listening. I was only looking at Andy and watching her stare into my eyes. I heard footsteps once again and a doctor had come in.
"Ah. Mister Daniels glad to see you awake so soon." He pulled up my chart. "So seeing that you fell from the about 30-foot balcony you probably shouldn't be able to do much at this point, but you have a broken rib, a displaced spinal disc, and a dislocated hip. Also the injuries on the surface of your skin, but the ones listed, those are the ones we are most concerned about. We have relocated your hip and secured your ribs, however, we are concerned about your spinal disc. We'll do some testing, but in the meantime please enjoy consciousness for a little bit." He smiled, taking leave from the room.
"You're lucky to be awake, bud." Lucas laughed a little sending my smiling face with Andy to be a little angry and frustrated.
"Why would you say that? He just woke up. I thought you and Westin were friends. Friends don't say shit like that." Andy sounded angry too. Her hand tightened on mine as her eyebrows furrowed closer together.
Lucas leaned back against the wall, took a sip of his drink, and smiled. "Wes and I are friends. Have been since the sixth grade." He held his hand out and then pointed his hand towards her. "How long have you known him? 24 hours?"
"I know Westin." She squeezes my hand a little tighter. "I know him." She turned back to smile at me. Turning back I felt the anger off of her. "Just because, you've known him for oh so long, doesn't mean you two are friends." She snapped.
Lucas pushed himself from the wall and took a step closer to my bed. "Wes and I are friends."
I cleared my throat and spoke up. "No, we aren't." Wait did I say just say that?!? I did. Holy shit I stood up for myself.
"C'mon Wes of course we are." Lucas winked trying to get me to agree so Andy would continue to date him.
"Friends don't hurt other friends, by taking what was theirs to start with." I sighed. Andy stared right into my eyes and didn't look back.
I reached up and touched her cheek, feeling the warmth of her skin on mine. It must've been meaningless to her because she got up and left. Lucas followed shortly after her trying to catch her trails.
A nurse came in and checked me out and brought me into some rooms for some testing. All I remember is when the doctor had come in and smiled largely. "Everything looks great. Except for your back is broken, but considering you have the back brace on, you should be fine. There seems to be no internal nor nerve damage so as long as you wear that brace nonstop for 10 weeks, you should be good to go, my friend." He smiled at me.
Another nurse walked in and instantly I was shocked. I couldn't believe I was staring straight at the only girl I've ever been with. When she looked over at me her jaw dropped and her eyes lightened. I couldn't believe she did it. She became a nurse. She took a few steps closer to me and brushed one of her beautifully radiant red hairs behind her ear. Her green eyes followed as her hand dropped down with her signature emerald green necklace dangling from her neck. I couldn't believe my eyes. I could hardly speak.
"Emma." I let out a breath.
