I couldn't believe here she was standing over me in her festive Winnie the Pooh outfit. She finally smiled at me and grabbed my hand.

That's when Andy walked in.

"Hey, Westin, they said.... oh hello there." Andy's smile dropped down as she gave me a strange look that I understood. The look asking 'Who is she?'

"Hi, I'm Emma. You must be his girlfriend?" Emma held out her hand to Andy. The tension was a little painful.

"I'm Andy, no I'm not his girlfriend. I'm just a friend." Andy smiled up down at the redhead before her. "I'll be outside Wes." She gave a fake smile, signaling she wasn't pleased to be leaving.

I almost called out but she was gone before I could speak. I closed my eyes for a second and realized that Emma was still in there. I opened them once more and there sat Emma, right where Andy had sat not too long ago.

"She's a keeper, huh Wes?" Emma joked with me. "How long have you known that one for her to be that jealous?"

I looked to my bedside table seeing the clock had read it had been three days later. "About a day not including the three I've been here." I shook my head a how ridiculous it sounded for me to be aching for her already after only a day. "How's Calvin?"

Emma smiled and rolled her eyes sitting back in her chair. "A pain. Wish Malcolm would come back and help me." She sighed remembering the dashing Brit that knocked her up about 5 years back. The one who stole her away from me. The one she just can't let go of. "He'll come around. He's getting his papers the right way, remember?" I smirked at her love lost affections for the deadbeat.

I couldn't stop looking at her. There, here in front of me was, what I once thought of as the love of my life, and yet, I felt nothing. Something changed. Something deep inside my broken heart. For once everything felt clear. I shut my eyes for a moment and smiled.

I shouldn't have done that.

I tried to open my eyes again and couldn't. I tried lifting my arm and couldn't. I attempted to move my mouth to just open it and I couldn't. What was happening?

"Wes?" Emma yelled. "Wes! Shit, he's flatlining. Andy! Get a doctor!" She screeched as she laid back on my bed and straddled on top of me to give me CPR. Seriously, what the hell, is going on? I continued to ask myself.

"Emma is everything-- Shit. Nancy get a crash cart!" A male voice came in and yelled. I could hear his footsteps approach me and my muscles began to seize. Even with my body not functioning, I couldn't let him touch me. I didn't trust him. The people I trust were Emma who was already on top of me, Andy who had grabbed my hand, and my mom who was six feet underground about 4 miles from here.

"He's seizing." Emma got off of me. "Doctor, back away." She said slowly. He took some steps back and instantly I felt relaxed. I tried to open my eyes and finally, I could. I slowly opened them and felt Andy's hand tighten around mine.

"This has never happened before." The doctor took a breath. I could tell he was trying to figure out what in the world just happened. "First of all, why in the world did he begin to flatline. Second of all why wasn't he seizing underneath you? Thirdly why is awake now? Lastly, why did I need to take a step back." The doctor crossed his arms and begun to look me over.

"You'll need to adjust his meds as they are too high and temporarily paralyzed all body movement and it shocked him so bad he went into Cardiac arrest. Next, I know this patient, he is the adoptive uncle to my son and trusts me. He has high trust issues and had recently dealt with another trust issue. The only two people alive were in this room. Me of course and Miss Andy. He simply did not trust you as he was semi-conscious in his episode. He is awake now because he feels safe with Miss Andy and me and that the episode from his meds has worn off for now. I suggest maybe looking more into your patients before giving them random medicines." Emma diagnosed. I stared wide-eyed at her. How did she know that? I turned to look at Andy who had the same expression as I. I let that expression go as I smiled gently at the beautiful brunette beside me.

"Of course, Miss Turns." The doctor gave a fake smile and took his leave. Emma turned to me and Andy and burst out laughing. I gave a small laugh and pushed the button to have the bed sit up.

"Andy, this is my ex-girlfriend slash actual best friend. She and I dated through our freshman year at the university. Emma, this is my new friend Andy." I explained to each of them letting each of them see why the other was here. Of course, Emma already knew why Andy was here.

Andy outstretched her arm and smiled as Emma did the same. The two shook hands over my bed and I turned to Andy who looked like she had something important to say. I quizzically looked at her and she handed me a baffled look in return. Then changing to a look of astoundment. "Oh, right. The nurse said you should be cleared by tomorrow." She smiled at me.

"Well, I really should get going. It was nice meeting you Andy, I look forward to future encounters." She smiled picking up her purse and coat. "Wes it's always a pleasure and be sure to swing by when you are done being wild with Lucas. Calvin misses you." With that, she was gone.

"Bye Emma," I said to a now-empty doorway. Once again she was gone, like the wind. Her radiant aura left the room leaving only Andy's to brighten the room.

Turning to Andy, I couldn't help but smile at her beauty and her radiance. She smiled back and I just wanted to pull her to me and kiss her sweetly, like they do in those sappy romance movies. I only wanted her to be near me. I held out my hand and she grabbed it again. Placing her head on my hand I could feel her soft skin on my callused hands. "Thank you." She whispered.

I was confused and I believe my face proved it. But let's say something stupid again, why don't we? "For what?" Dumbass. Why? You should've stayed quiet.

Her smile lit up again as she pulled my face close to hers and looked deeply into my eyes. Our breathing patterns being in sync. Her vibrant blue eyes staring deep into the depths of the mine. Her nose brushed up against mine letting me feel her skin once again. Then in an instant, her soft plump lips had smashed into mine, holding me in her trance.
