Fireworks. That's all that could be felt.

But of course, my brain couldn't shut off for one moment. I couldn't be kissing her. Could I? Was it something I said? Why in all that is good is this goddess kissing me? All thoughts were utterly melted away as she pulled back for a moment.

I opened my eyes and looked into her sparklingly enchanting blue eyes. My hand found its way to the back of her head as I pulled her back towards me to kiss me once more. I felt her nose brush up against mine and we were so close to having that other kiss. I could almost anticipate the same fireworks to explode once more.

Then stormed in none other than my brother. Oh boy, here we go. Another moment ruined by the one and only, Horton Daniels.

"Oh, hello there, Miss?" Horton held his hand out to Andy.

"Lane. Andy Lane." She smiled shaking his hand. Wait.. had I just learned Andy's full name. Andy Lane. How adorable. Well, anything is better than plain old Westin Daniels. Students shoving money into music for almost nothing. At last, that's what Horton says.

"Ah very nice to meet you, Miss Lane. Tell me how do you know my little brother here?" Horton said referring to her hand squeezing tightly onto mine.

"We're friends." Andy released my hand quickly rubbing her fingers with the other hand. I looked up at her and gave her a pained look as I loved her hand in mine. She sighed looking directly at the wiring and the monitors that still surrounded me.

"I see." Horton let out a breath to break our tense looks. "Would you mind giving Westin and me a minute?" He clapped his hands together.

"Not a problem." She smiled. I watched as she bent down and grabbed her clutch purse. Turning back to me she gave me the warmest smile that was always chipping away at my frozen heart. "I'll be right outside the door." And with that, she was gone.

I closed my eyes ready to embrace the rain of anger that was to come. I opened them to find my brother glaring me down. I could tell it was coming. I just didn't know when.

"Well, little brother. Look whatcha got yourself into now. A mega medical bill and a new little girlfriend. How cute?" She snickered.

"Don't you dare. She's too special for you to ruin her like you've ruined the whole lot of them." I threatened to shake my finger at him.

"I wouldn't dare. Not my type. Maybe yours but most certainly not mine." She smirked. "Well since the old man hasn't come home in like 10 years and mom's 6 feet under. I figured I would see how my only relative is doing." He pulled up the chair leaning over it to interrogate me.

"Really? Cmon H. Don't play Mister Nice Guy with me." I rolled my eyes calling out his bullshit.

"First of all, it's not H. It's Horton. Always has been and always will be, Westin. Second of all, fine, you want the truth. I've got half a mind to pull you from school. Teach you how to be a real man in this world. What are you even gonna do with a master's in music? Huh? Write music? Play piano at the local diner? Bring home a cold burger and some fries to yourself each night? Pathetic." Horton assumed. He always assumes so why should it bother me. "Oh look it here, looks like big-time QB has got himself a tummy. No wonder you haven't nailed her yet." He poked at my stomach.

I shoved him off and sat my bed up. "Alright, you wanna go this? Right here, right now?" I began to unplug unnecessary machines. The monitors were spiking and screeching, but I couldn't care less. My mind raced with rage. I was furious. I turned to my side and faced my brother. I glared at him as we both stood up.

"What are you gonna do little brother? Hit me? Cause you haven't had the balls to hit Lucas yet? Nor I? So whatcha gonna do, Marshmallow?" He spat in my face. I stood up and squared up to him. Though he was older, I was taller and buffer. The only reason he kept teasing me about my weight is that he's a 5' 8" guy weighing in at 280 lbs. I was a 6' 9" man weighing in at 210 lbs. "Cmon Westin. Hit me." He teased.

I cocked my arm back, ready to nail his fat face square in the nose. He shut his eyes preparing for my wrath to rain down on him.

My back slowly ruptured in pain. I dropped to my knees screaming in pain. I watched Horton take a step back as Andy came bolting in through the door. She grabbed my arm trying to shake me from the pain. My back was aching. It hurt to move. I then fell flat on my face, letting my back straighten out. It felt better. It all felt better. The only pain left was in my neck. Woah.

I watched as a couple of nurses and the doctor comes in. They got me back on the bed and all hooked up. I sighed and shut my eyes. I couldn't feel my left arm. Then my left leg. I was scared. Then feeling returned as a felt something in my back shift into place. I opened my eyes and found my brother standing there.

"Better?" He asked. I stared at him confused. "I spoke to your doctor. He said that you were having alignment issues. I remember that when you used to want to hit someone, you told me that you always shifted your back and something popped every time. I remember when we were practicing in the back yard and when you got mad and wanted to punch me you collapsed." He let a small smile out. "I didn't mean to make you mad. I just wanted to help. Figured if anyone could it was your family." He smiled.

I shook my head and let a small chuckle release. "I hate you, brother."

"Hate ya more, kiddo." He chuckled grabbing hold of my hand.

Andy came in and smiled at me. I didn't notice her leaving. Guess she left a minute or two cause she came back with a Gatorade for me.

"I'll give you two a moment." Horton smiled taking his leave. The door shut and I turned to the beautiful girl taking her seat at my side once more.

"Miss Lane?" I chuckled at her.

"No!" She gasped placing her hands over her mouth. "You weren't supposed to hear my last name. I thought we were doing this whole mystery man/girl thing." She smiled.

"Well, I like your last name. Andy Lane. Sounds cool almost like a sidekick name." I smiled.

"Oh yeah and does that make you the superhero? Mister Daniels." She laughed.

"Oh absolutely." I nodded my head profusely.

Her smile lit up the whole room. I just sat and stared at her until my eyes began to fall droopy. Andy crawled next to me and tucked in close to me.

"You should go home." I sighed sleepily.

"In what car?" She smirked.

"Huh. Didn't think about that one." I laughed.

She snuggled in closer to me and closed her eyes. "Besides I'd rather sleep in your broken arms than a crappy old bed." She sleepily replied. I listened to her heartbeat slow down and her breathing becomes shallower. I just let her sleep there waiting for my eyes to drop to a close myself.
