"That was literally the weirdest thing that ever happend to me" Jack spits out drunk when the three of us stand still in the elevator. I'm holding my heels with one hand, in the other my purse and keys. Sounds like the exact replica of the night I found out Jonah was my new neighbor. I roll my eyes and groan.
"Can you like stop for one second!" I burst out to Jack, who whiden his eyes.
"What have I done wrong?" He yells back. Jonah is standing in the middle of us, arms crossed. Like a dad with two fighting kids but is too lazy to separate them.
"Because you made out Bella and Archie showed up and I had to talk to him!" I shout back. My voice is harsh against the aluminum walls of the elevator.
"So? What's the problem!" Jack shouts in my face. It takes me a lot to not hit him right across the face. That beautiful defined face. I shake my head at that thought. Not gonna happen.
"I wasn't mentally ready to talk to him again. Talking to him in general, I don't want it" I say, backing up, my back against the side of the elevator. Jonah finally pays attention now and looks over to my side. I look up and catch his eye. I feel my eyes water and I hate myself for that. Stupid alcohol, again.
"He looked terrible, I think he's depressed. I should talk to some of his friends" I mutter in myself. Aubree, where are you now? I need you.
"He looks like Corbyn to be honest, that is terrible" Jonah says frowning, but I don't react. I think i'm passing out if I don't see a bed within now and 5 minutes. When we walk through the hallway, Jonah grabs my arm while Jack already walks into Jonah's apartment.
"Hey hey baby" He calms me down and I burst out in crying. How did he knew I was about to cry. This boy. My man.
"I hate this Jonah. I'm fighting with my best friend, my ex is depressed and now also me and Jack fight. I'm so sorry Jonah" I say in his chest. He pulls away and places his warm hands on both of cheeks.
"I love you Ruby. You and Aubree will make it up, I promise you. Talk to Reggie, maybe he knows more about Archie. And Jack is just drunk, so are you. Get some stuff from your apartment and I see you in 10. I want to cuddle you" He smiles and I giggle. He whipes some tears away with his thumbs and I kiss them when they pass my lips.
"I love you too and I also want to cuddle you" I say, smiling upwards.
"Come here" Jonah grins and places his lips on mine. They relaxe me and I feel less stressed. I calm down and breath out deeply when we pull away.
"Beter?" He asks and I nod.
"Go baby, I'll make some tea" He slaps my ass softly and I giggle.

As I step into my apartment I freeze.
"Aubree what are doing here?" I ask her when she turns around. She looks like she could be dead for three days. As she sees me, she runs up to me and falls in my arms. I'm overwhelmed but hug her back. What the fuck happend to her.
"What happend to you, are you okay?" I say as I close my door behind me. She sees my tears and I notice hers. She grabs my face with both hands and smiles.
"I just missed you" She says but I see she's lying to me. Too bad for her I know her too well.
"Tell me what's wrong Aubree, you broke into my apartment!" I say, grabbing on to her arms. Her face soften and new tears form in her eyes.
"Okay, fine. I had a late night shift today, Austin doesn't put us together anymore. So when you were done at 5, my shift started. I stopped at 1 a clock at night and left the restaurant. I saw Archie across the street, with some dude we don't know" She says, slightly panicking. I love it when she says 'we' instead of only her. We're a team. Always been.
"I saw them doing some sneaky shit so I hid behind a tree and hoped they didn't saw me because it was dark. I think Archie is on heavy drugs Ruby. Maybe heroine or cocaine? Anyways, something bad, very bad!" She says. She liked Archie, as a friend. I understand she's worried. Am I?
"I don't care Aubree, he's my ex and HE broke up with me. If he want to bang a redneck and take drugs, I don't care!" I say, stepping out of her grip, walking to my kitchen. I was with my back to her and I hear her breath in.
"You don't mean that Ruby, I can hear it in you voice" She whispers and I freeze. My knuckles whiten around the door of my fridge and I close my eyes.
"He's my ex Bree, I don't care!" I say again, aggressively opening the door. I hear her walking towards me.
"Stop lying to yourself Ruby. I saw him, he looked like a homeless man!" She yells at me and I honestly try my best to lie to her. You don't care Ruby, stop caring about him.
"I saw him too today, at a club. Jack, a friend of Jonah made out with Bella and Archie got mad at him and Jonah. I know he looks horrible Aubree. Eventhough it was dark in that club, you could see he lost weight and wasn't taking care of himself. That's nothing like him. He's the cleanest person I know!" I say and I feel my tears rolling down my cheeks. You passed this Ruby, you have a healthy relationship with Jonah. Archie may not ruin this.
"Should we do something?" She asks me and I immediately shake my head.
"No! I'm in a good relationship. Archie can handle it himself. I'm not going to put my energy into him, again!" I say, walking to my bedroom. She sign and starts following me.
"But Ruby!" She whines and I firmly turn around. We look into each other's eyes and I narrow mine slightly.
"No stays no. I'm not doing this Aubree. I'm glad you came here, I hope we're good now. But Archie is one step too far, you can't ask that from me." I say softly. Her face soften and her head falls down.
"I know, I'm sorry. It's just weird to see him like that. I know you and Jonah are perfect. I'm sorry!" She says and hugs me. She's honest, I can hear it.
"And please let us be friends again, I literally can't live without you!" She cries out and I giggle.
"Of course we're best friend Aubree! I miss you too" I say and now we're both crying again in my bedroom.
"Jonah asked if I wanted to go to his apartment, I should go and take my stuff" I whisper and she nods.
"I understand, I should go. Maybe we can hang out together, maybe tomorrow?" She asks and I smile.
"I'd love to!" I say and she gives me one last hug.
"Seeya!" She says and she walks out. When I hear her open my front door, I hear voices. It's Jonah. He wanted to come and get me. Adorable.
