Oh No It's the Last Day of Camp...(Part three)

Third Person POV

All had walked out to meet Max's birth parents as they got out of the car. All except for Gwen as she went to get ready to call the police in case something were to happen. His mother was a short woman with short black hair and emerald green eyes that cut into you like daggers even when she smiled. His father was a taller being with extremely curly brown hair and the same daggerish eyes. They walked up to the group with evil expressions plastered on their face.

"Hello, I'm Lilith, and this is Kaiden, we're Max's parents, we came to pick up our sweet little boy." the woman said the last part of her sentence with venom seeping from her voice.

"I'm sorry but I can't allow that." Daniel said with a smile saying 'don't try it bud'.

"Excuse me?" Lilith responded. "You can't keep him he's our son."

"How can you treat you child like that?" David snapped tears threatening his eyes.

"Like what?!" Kaiden spoke glaring at David.

"Like shit" David retorted glaring right back. Max looked up at him with shock written all over his face then it melted into a proud smile.

"WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN TELLING THEM YOU LITTLE BITCH?!" Lilith yelled stepping towards Max. Daniel put himself in the way and ended up on the ground. He looked up to see David fighting off Lilith while Max was on the ground trembling with tears streaming down his face.

"Nonononononononono WAKE UP, MAX! WAKE UP! This isn't happening... WAKE UP!" Max started clawing at his hair. "DAVID! I CAN'T WAKE UP!" Then he was in the air.

"Shut up you little shit!" Said Kaiden lifting Max. A soft thud was heard as Max hit the ground.

David's POV

Everything suddenly went in slow motion as I saw that head of curly black hair hit the dirt. Is that blood? My heart was pounding as I shoved Lilith off of me and ran towards the now unconscious child.

"He's only faking it dumbass. He's a world class performer." Kaiden growled. Daniel finally got up off the ground and walked toward me. Kaiden went to swing at me and as I flinched to take the hit I felt nothing and heard skin connecting. I look up to see the sexiest sight. Daniel was hunched over Kaiden who was on the ground holding his cheek. Blood gushing from his nose.

"And STAY the fuck down." he commanded. I took this opportunity to rush over and get Max inside with Gwen. As I scooped up the child Daniel held off Lilith and sirens were heard in the distance.

Daniel's POV

I walked over to the girl and forced her hands behind her back. I leaned up to her ear.

"You try anything and I'll fucking stab you bitch." I whispered taking out my knife and lightly pressing it to her back so she knew I wasn't bluffing. I quickly put it away as the red and blue lights pulled into camp followed by the red and white ones. Good she called him an ambulance too. I sighed looking over at David who was cradling Max.

"Stay with me Max. Come on don't go. Max, buddy, come on you have to stay with me. Daniel and I will take care of you, Max. Open your eyes! Max please buddy." Tears were streaming from his eyes. He just sat there rocking back and forth with a limp child in his arms.

"Sir, let me take him, we'll get him to the hospital." The EMT tried to pry Max from David's hands but David didn't want to let go.

"NO! WE NEED TO HELP HIM NOW!" He screamed. He isn't thinking straight...

"David let them take him. We'll ride with him together, love." I attempted to get him to cooperate. To everyone's surprise, except mine, it worked. He gave Max to the EMT and I took his hand in mine. "Let's go, love. Let's make sure our Max is gonna be okay." I said soothingly

"O-okay..." He responded taking my hand. I lead him to the ambulance and we both climbed in. As we sat down he squeezed me in an embrace of pain, sorrow, and love all in one. I hugged him back trying to comfort him the best I could. The rest of the ride was spent in silence. Max please be okay...
