We were laying on the bed, headphones in our ears, warm pjs on. Music blasted in my ear, softly lulling me to sleep. The lights were already off, and teeth were brushed. I turned to face Jayne, smiling at her. She smiled back, snuggling further under the covers. It was nice. It always was.

I was in a state of pure relaxation, eyelids fluttering to a close when it happened. The familiar feeling of pure sadness washed over me. I felt my eyes well with tears. Why was I still alive here? I was obviously just an annoyance to everyone around me. I made my mum struggle. He should have just killed me there and then.

I retreated my legs into my chest. Jayne's eyes flew open, watching the tears pour down my face. As she reached out to comfort me . As she did so however, I saw her eyes fill with fear. Her breaths became short, and she clutched at her throat. She was having a panic attack, and I had no idea what to do.

I sat up, looking around for anything to help me. How could I be such a useless friend, not even knowing what to do for her with something she struggles with constantly. She knew what to do with me. I was horrible, indefensible... and really just needed to focus on helping her right now.

"Jayne, focusing on me ok? Everything is going to be ok. Can you –"

And my eyes rolled back into my head.

Flashes of light coloured my vision. I was standing – no, more like floating. I was vaguely aware of my surroundings, but I couldn't focus on anything in particular. There were people standing in front of me... reaching out to me?

"You belong to us. Since the moment of the universes birth, everything has been set up for this moment. Please, save them." Were they begging? But for the wrong person, I heard my thoughts. I couldn't do anything, it was Jayne they needed...

Before I could even understand or think about anything, I felt myself being sucked away from the vision, falling into the dark.

I woke up to the birds chirping outside my window. My vison was blurry, and I rubbed my eyes to clear them. My mind took some time to process. I shot up like a bullet.

Surely... I looked over to Jayne. She was still asleep. I shook her awake quickly. She moaned sleepily, stretching wide. After a few moments she shot up as well. She looked at me, wide eyed.
"Was that..." she whispered.
"Well I've never had anything like that before."
Jayne pulled her feet underneath her. She looked up at me, scared look across her face.

"I, I was inside myself, but not quite there. Someone was calling me the Chosen one, and you pushed them away with an invisible force." She whispered. My eyes widened. My dream self was correct then.
"Jayne, you realise what this means right?"

"Girls, into the lounge room now!" Mum's voice yelled through. We leapt out of bed, pulling on jumpers over our pjs. We ran out. Mum was standing in the middle of the room, TV on. We joined her by her side.

"... as people all across the world wake up from their Being's dreams, of course prophesied just nineteen years ago. Reports are flooding in of what people saw. All of this information is being collated by the government, who promise to reveal prominent findings as they come across them. We turn now to...."

Jayne and I looked at each other, then back to Mum. She was shaking, remote still pointed at the TV.
"Mum, what did you dream about?" I softly grabbed her hands. She looked up at me, fear in her eyes. And then, it melted away like a button had been flicked.
"About getting you two out of here, and quickly." Her hands stopped shaking, and she straightened up.
