You were in a lecture when your phone literally nearly exploded and buzzed itself off the table trying to commit suicide, all eyes were on you some of them were looking down at their phones also getting notifications about you somehow, most had wide eyes and shocked faces others were just laughing out loud

Because of course it was the weirdo in the back of the hall that wouldn't make someone she doesn't know hug her, of course it was y/n

The lecture ended and you tried to keep up with all the notifications that were popping up on your Instagram, many people were copying your account in an attempt to get him to talk to them, thousands of people were following you or hating on you

So many DM's were coming in you barely missed Tom's that just read 'sorry I didn't realise that my fans are insane 😂😂' you replied saying it was fine and if the hug thing bothered him that much then he should have said something

That was the funniest part of all of this, your inability to be socially acceptable had literally become a meme

The fans that shipped you for some reason or another would comment on every post and every tweet how you two should meet up and hug just get this whole thing over with, you did meet up with him on multiple occasions tweeting out videos of him trying to hug you whilst you curved him

It was all fun and games and as the whole thing started to die off so did communication with the man, one day he tweeted at you asking for your number to which the fans lost their shit. Again.

You had been friends with Tom for a long while now still never hugging or touching for the joke of it

You had gotten stuck in an elevator with him at one point and had had to sit there holding his hand breathing so heavily you thought you were going to pass out

"Yes dear?" He said back in the same tone barely even glancing at you as he checked over his lines once more "I was wondering if you wanted to hug" he looked at you completely deadpanned before he burst out laughing

You were still smiling whilst Harrison filmed it from far away, when he finally got his bearings back he nodded and pulled you into him squeezing you tightly "you smell good" he snorted letting go

After that hug that's literally all you would do, waiting in lines? You were probably hugging. At a party? You were probably hugging. Sitting on the sofa? Hugging. In between interviews? Hugging. He was just really damn comfortable

Once he was on live and it was at a weird angle, people could see the top of your head but had no idea you had fully fallen asleep on Tom 2 hours ago and he didn't want to move so he resorted to entertaining himself

"So are you and the weirdo dating or what? Ummm no? She's just asleep since we've been travelling all month" he laughs lightly

"Ugh" he rolls eyes and pulls you tighter against him "ah shit my phones gonna die, one sec guys" he stands from his spot leaving the phone facing the doorway as he stands taking you with him holding you with one arm as you flip around in annoyance from the movement

"So this dude... right this dude.... needs a charger so he LEAVES his phone and takes the WHOLE ASS HUMAN with him" he reads out loud making you both laugh a little although you quickly drift back off being worse with jet lag than him

"You should totally date, yeah we probably should" he doesn't even acknowledge what he just said he just moves on quickly letting the fans have another complete meltdown over his words and/or actions
