Peter sighed in frustration slamming his hands on Fury's desk just about having enough of this day "I am telling you there is someone following me because my spider sense goes off the charts when I'm alone at 4am"

You giggle to yourself as you sit in the rafters watching the debacle "Peter tingle"
"There, there it is again, mocking me, can you not hear that?"
"Okay I don't know what Stark would do in this situation but I'm booking you in with the therapist"

"OH MY GOD!" He yells out angrily, you watch as Agent Romanoff enters the room looking overly amused
"I believe you kid" a glimmer of hope shines across his face before he realises she's probably just mocking him

"I can feel those kind of things too, when someone is in the room and they shouldn't be" suddenly you're on high alert, you're ready to fight at any moment and you hide yourself better than before

"There's someone else in here, they've been in here since you left this morning because they knew this is where you were going"
"Am I really that predictable?" He asks to you, he does that a lot now he's realised you're there

"Well yeah, you wake up at the same time and go to school then you go on patrol which isn't hard to follow you in that red spandex then you go to sleep and I'm presuming it's not that hard to get into your flat"

"Speaking of school, has anyone new started recently?" Fuck.
Peter thinks for a moment before the image of your face pops into his head "there's this new girl, she asked me for a pen yesterday"
"Did you give her one?"
"Well... yeah what was I gonna do? Say no you can't write notes today?"

"Okay What was her name on the register?"
"Uhhhhh-"
"You didn't listen to the register?"
"I did, it was something like Jennifer"
"Well that is clearly not her real name" Natasha mumbles before you sigh and decide you're not on the wrong side so why should it matter

You drop to the floor right behind Peter making him jump so hard he nearly falls through the floor
"You're gonna arrest me now right?" Natasha nods and you lift your arms getting cuffed
"Don't worry Parker, I wasn't watching you change"

He frowns confused as she drags you off to a questioning room in which you sit calmly answering the questions Fury and Peter throw in your direction

"I don't understand" Fury mumbles as they sit on the other side of the glass, the Edith glasses lay in front of you on the table as they've asked if you know what they are, you said yes

"She doesn't work for us, she doesn't work for Hydra, she certainly doesn't work for the Russians with that accent, she doesn't work for MI6 because she would have identified herself immediately that's their protocol"

"Well then who could she work for?" Nat wonders, Peter has been watching you eye up the glasses for the last 2 minutes before you shrug and put them on your face

"What if she works for Mysterio's people?" They all look at you who is now talking to yourself seemingly wearing the Edith glasses which you would have no access to

"Turn the mic on" Natasha flips a switch and seemingly all is revealed
"I don't know Edith this is like the longest contract I've ever had"
"I cannot have regular conversations with you Agent y/l/n I'm a defence AI"

"It's really good pay though, 60,000 a month until me or Parker dies, all I do is watch the kid webbing up bike robbers and giving directions to old people"
"Mr Stark wanted you to watch over him in case he needed help, you do your job as it is supposed to be done and I will not drone strike you"

"For an AI defence system you have excellent comedic understanding"
"That was not a joke"
"Tony would never drone strike me"
"I am not Tony"
"Well I doubt Peter would ever drone strike someone on purpose"

The door opens revealing all three previous party members staring at you in complete and utter confusion
"Oh you're back, how was the meeting?"
"That's not an agent, that is a Stark clone"
"As incredible of a plot twist that would be, it is incorrect"

"So Stark hired you to watch over the kid forever?"
"Pretty much, he knew me when I was like this big," You gesture to the height of the table "and I was only killing one man at a time"
"Impossible, he would have taken you in"

"I was quite happy where I was, he sent me money and payed for a flat for me by the Avengers Tower, he came to me before the big battle with super scary past Thanos and said if anything were to happen to him and Peter was back he would trust no one else more than me to make sure if anything happened I'd get him back safe and alive"

"And us?" Natasha asks a little offended in her tone
"Oh well you know how superheroes are, they have to have their spat before they get their balls up and actually do their job" Peter opens his mouth to object before closing it and realising that you're completely right

"Look I wasn't doing anything illegal I was just watching him and making sure he wasn't getting murdered, if anything I was helping you out I've injured many a people because you weren't paying attention"

Fury huffs knowing you will continue to follow out your contract wether he says no or not because he has no grounds to hold you in a cell

"Fine, okay, you can be his partner"
"I don't- I don't need a partner!" He gains looks from all three of the people that are in the room with him
"I'm not gonna take your job, just think of me as a dog in minecraft"

"What?" Natasha asks glancing between the two who seemingly both understand what's happening
"I follow him round and only attack if it's needed" Peter nods along with your sentence and the two older people groan

"Whatever, agent y/l/n I'll have you briefed on all of Parker's files and missions and you two have training together twice a week to work out tactics okay?" You both remain silent

"Okay?!"
"Whatever"
"Yeahhhhh...."
