Prompt #5 || Peter Parker

"Peter, I swear if you don't shut up soon I'm gonna cut you open and hang you over a door frame like hippies that don't use doors"
"...sorry... I'm just really nervous"
"You'll be fine, she asked you to go on a date, there is no way this could go wrong"

In your head you were thinking of every way you could this girl apart if she hurt him, because if you couldn't have him you were going to make sure he got someone good enough for him and if he got hurt-

"I should leave in a few minutes" he cuts into your thoughts cutting you off from your dark imagination
"Okay, I'll be here" he smiles going out to say bye to his aunt, you stay standing there smiling until the door closes and you let your face drop "...waiting..." you finally finished sitting down on his bed

You sigh and look around for something to do deciding that Lego and FaceTime to Ned was the best idea

"Ned, I swear if you ever get a girlfriend I will bow down to you"
"Why?" He screeches as you both laugh about some joke you'd said like 20 minutes ago
"Because, your jokes are absolutely terrible"

It had been almost 4 hours since Peter had gone out, you weren't worried about him because well, he's Spiderman

May had gone to bed about an hour ago and left you to sit on Peter's floor fixing a half built Avengers Tower model whilst you and Ned just roasted the shit out of each other

When you did hear the keys in the door you immediately got worried, that wasn't normal excited Peter that couldn't get his keys in the key hole, that wasn't happy Peter that opened the door really hard every single time with out fail

That wasn't excited Peter who took his shoes off by the door and that certainly wasn't happy Peter that walked through his bedroom door, he was wet from the rain and he looked incredibly sad

"She... wasn't there..." you froze unable to deal with the situation for a moment before sprinting into action
"How long did you wait?" You ask standing and slowly coaxing him into taking his wet clothes off

You cover your eyes as he pulls off his boxers taking a long while to answer
"I sat there for 2 hours"
"So why are you back so late?"
"...I started walking round, I was thinking about everything and everyone in my life because I was sad and mopey"

"You're so dramatic" you laugh gently opening your eyes when you feel him sit next to you, you still can't get over the overnight abs
"I'm not dramatic, I was just thinking about how much I take for granted and I wanted to tell you-"

"Hey Pete, how was the date?" May appears in the doorway in the middle of his sentence cutting off your gossip boner
"Not good, she wasn't there"
"Oh I'm sorry, it happens to the best of us, I've gotta sleep I have work tomorrow but we can talk more then"

You both wave as she walks back to her own room quickly turning and facing each other again

"I wanted to tell you that I've noticed the way I don't appreciate you the way I should..."
"What?"
"Well, I wasn't going to tell you because I was just going to go on this date and get over it but I couldn't because she wasn't there so I've decided this is the universe-"
"Pete, you're rambling" he smiles softly glancing up at you once more before breathing in heavily

"Ilikeyouandihavesincelikethirdgradeimreallysorrybutihadtotellyoubecauseitiseatingmralovewatchingyoubesoprettyimsorry" you sit there in shock, silently staring at him waiting for him to do something else

"What?" You finally ask making him look at you almost sadly but a lot more relaxed than before

"I like you, a lot actually, I tried to ignore it because I didn't want it to get weird but I couldn't ignore it anymore, when I walked in and you were building Lego and you knew something was wrong just by the way I put my keys in the door"

"You.... you like me?" He nods slowly as you both stare each other down waiting for something else to happen before a voice sounds
"OH MY GOD WOULD YOU TWO JUST KISS" it's Ned, he's still on FaceTime just facing the wall and listening to the two of you speak

"Ned, I forgot you were on the phone I'm so sorry" you laugh picking the phone up to look at the both of you
"I'm gonna hang up and call you back in five minutes, if you haven't fixed this by then I'm gonna unfriend you both in real life" the screen goes black and then it's silent again

"So, as much as I want to pretend this didn't happen and go to bed I like being friends with Ned-" you just jump on him, you connect your mouths faster than your hands can get to his form but he responds in the same manner

You grip his hair and drag him closer before you slip off the bed from him trying to drag you closer to him

"Ow" you laugh on the floor looking at the Lego you just destroyed in sorrow, you get up and sigh clambering onto your bunk "we can sort it out tomorrow, I'm tired" he hums in response cloning into his own bed

You hear him fall asleep and it makes you smile, I guess you could have him after all
