I open my eyes and see Susie lying on my chest like its a pillow. I look at the TV, it's been muted. Ryan is missing. I slowly shift Susie onto the couch and get off. I grab my AK-47 and bags, then I walk into the store area. Ryan is sitting there with a cigarette in his mouth. “What's up with you?” I ask while taking two packs from behind the counter. I take one cigarette out and put the rest in my pocket.

"Eh? Oh, nothing. I'm just a bit sad about this whole thing." He says while taking a Zippo lighter from the counter. He lights his cigarette and hands it to me. I light mine and give back his lighter.

"Just be glad that we escaped that city. I was trapped there in my past life. It was madness." I say as I take a drag of my cigarette.

"But how many didn't escape? How will they live? How many will survive?" He asks while taking a drag of his cigarette.

"Few escaped, they will live in constant fear but if they all band together, they could survive the unrelenting hordes." I say while finishing off my cigarette.

"We are going to save them, my friend. It'll take a while but we will save them. Hell, I might just lose my arm before that'll happen. But one day, everyone will live in peace and the zombies will be either dead or cured." I say reassuringly while patting him on the back.

"Thank you for that. Now, what do we do so they can live in peace?" He asks while finishing off his cigarette. I smile.

"We become legends among men. We become strong and train our bodies to be the ultimate killing machines." I pull out another cigarette and take a lighter from the counter and light it.

"When do we begin?" He asks.

"When we hit another city, we will find a house with a garage and fortify it. We will get gym equipment there and train. We will most likely be there for 2 months, during that time we will be attacked by raiders, zombies and maybe some mutated infected." I say while grabbing a granola bar and eating it.

"Let's modify your baseball bat."

"Alright sure." Ryan says while we walk outside.

He hands me the bat and I pull out some chains from my bag. I kneel over on the ground. "First, let's wrap this with chains so it hurts more." I say while wrapping the chains tightly around the bat, I tie them together. "Next, the nails. Get me a hammer." I say while pulling out some nails.

He runs inside and after 30 seconds, he comes back with a hammer. "Thank you. Now, you stick the nails in the bat and then hammer until it sticks out the other side." I say as I hammer nails in.

"And then you get a perfect zombie killing weapon. Just don't get stabbed by the nails." I add. "Nice. Uh, is that a horde over there?" He asks, I look off into the distance. A horde is approaching.

"Ryan, go get Susie. Now! I'll fight them off the best I can." I shout, he runs over to the store to get Susie.

"Come on, you bastards! I can take you all!" I shout as I ready my aim. Breathe in and out. I start shooting.

"That's one! That's two! Three! Four!" I shout as I take off some heads. "Five! Six! Lucky Seven! Eight! Nine! That's ten, motherfuckers!" I shout as Susie and Ryan come back outside with their bags, guns, and Ryan's got the TV and DVD player in hand. "Load the car and ready it! Susie, let's do this!" I shout while taking off another head. She throws me my shotgun, I catch it and put it on my back. "Just in case if you need some more defense." She shouts as she readies her M14. We start firing into the horde. Before I need to reload, the horde gets reinforcements by another passing horde. Almost all of them were dead but now they have doubled in numbers.

"Car is ready! John, take the wheel and hand me the AK-47!" Ryan shouts from the passenger seat. Susie hops in the backseat and I get behind the wheel. I back out and hit the gas. With my spare hand, I give the AK-47 to Ryan. "Don't miss your shots. Here's a magazine." I say while handing him a mag. "Susie, what's the closest city to here?" I ask while avoiding crashed cars. "The closest city along our route is about 3 hours away!" She responds.

"Great! Hold on and sit tight while I take us there!" I shout as we begin a 3 hour trip of bullshittery.
