Hermione
I awkwardly trailed behind Pansy and Astoria as we made our way into the three broomsticks, feeling more of a third wheel than I've ever felt, even with Ron and Lavender.
Pansy found a booth and slid into one side while I slid into the other. Astoria unwrapped her scarf and threw it on the seat next to Pansy, "I'm getting a butterbeer, what do you want?"
Pansy looked at me. I raised my eyebrow, not expecting Pansy to even acknowledge me.
"Uh, butterbeer, with ginger in it, please," I said. Astoria rolled her eyes, her gaze still locked on Pansy.
"Butterbeer," Pansy said, and Astoria walked away.
Immediately Pansy turned to me, her expression serious and calculating. She was studying me.
I held a hand up to my face, "What? Is there something on my face?"
She sighed, shaking her head, "No," she went back to studying me before saying, "How do you really feel about Draco?"
My eyes widened and my heart sped up, she's seen through our act. I cleared my throat, "Well, I like him - a lot." I tried my best to sound convincing, I don't think she bought it.
"Uh huh," She turned to glance at Astoria, who was irritated, waiting in line, then back to me, "And how does Draco feel about you?"
I hesitated before sighing, "I think he's still hung up on Astoria."
Pansy nodded, "I'm not going to lie to you, Granger. I don't like you."
I wasn't surprised.
She sighed, "However, you're Draco's girlfriend, so I have to somewhat like you, so don't make it hard for me."
I frowned, startled by the direction this conversation was going, "O-Okay?"
"Draco seems happy. Happier than I've seen him in a long time, actually. It's refreshing to see that the old, happy Draco is still there, he just needs to be with the right people to help bring it out of him," She paused to study me more, "The first time I figured out you and Draco were dating, I disapproved for obvious reasons, you were a Gryffindor, friend of Potters, you know, that stuff. If you can keep Draco happy, then I am willing to be almost friends with you."
My mouth twitched, "And what am I supposed to do about him and Astoria?"
Pansy barked a laugh, waving me off, "Oh, please. Draco's over her, he's finally got that lovesick look out of his eyes and sees her for who she really is. You don't have to worry about Astoria anymore, he's got that lovesick look in his eyes, but now... it's directed at you."
I was frozen, I didn't know what to do, what to say, or even how to breathe.
I simply nodded slightly, acknowledging that I heard her words.
I opened my mouth to respond but Astoria slid into the booth, setting down the butterbeers before shoving mine at me.
"Thanks," I murmured.
Pansy took a sip before meeting my eyes, "So, Granger, what do you Gryffindors do for fun besides being teachers' pets."
I grinned and shifted in my seat, telling her all the stupid parties and games we play in the tower.

Pansy and I were having a lovely time, exchanging stories, laughing at the expense of Malfoy, and really just getting along.
Astoria had backed down somewhat, and was just rolling her eyes at us, every once and a while I would see her lips twitch before she would turn away.
Pansy was in the middle of telling me a story of Malfoy and Blaise in third year when Blaise accidentally turned Malfoy's tie into a snake when Theo, Blaise, and Malfoy walked in.
Pansy winked at me before turning to the guys, "Long time no see, fellas."
Malfoy looked directly at me, You okay?
I grinned at him, Perfectly fine, ferret.
Malfoy grinned at me and slid into the booth next to me, "What did I tell you?"
"Don't you dare start with the 'I told you so'," I smirked at him, "How come you never told me you were ginger for a day?"
I grinned at Pansy.
She'd told me that on April Fools day she and Blaise casted a spell on Malfoy in the morning to turn his hair ginger for 24 hours. The minute he found out he hid in his dorm room and wouldn't come out until his hair turned back to blond.
Malfoy's face dropped and hardened into a glare as he turned to Pansy, "Really?" he asked, "What else did you tell her, Pans?"
Pansy grinned, draining her butterbeer, "Oh, I think I'll let you find out for yourself."
He looked to me and I grinned, "You know, on second thought... thank you."
