Hermione

"Mum, for the last time, I'm perfectly fine!" I smiled at her, wrapping my arms around her.

She nodded against me, "I know, I know it's just if I would've known-" she broke off and pulled away from me, giving me a stern look, "You take care of that boy Hermione."

My lips twitched and I nodded, "Always, Mum."

When my Mum finally let me go, I walked into the living room carrying a pot of tea and cups.

Narcissa was sitting on the edge of the sofa, studying the television humorously suspiciously. I bit my lip and smiled at her, "Mrs. Malfoy?"

She jumped slightly and turned to me, smiling, "Now, Dear, what did I say about calling me Mrs. Malfoy?"

I smiled and flushed slightly, setting the tea on the coffee table before sitting next to her on the sofa, "Sorry, Narcissa."

I took the tea pot and started pouring Narcissa's cup.

"Don't be sorry Dear, you have absolutely nothing to be sorry about."

The sincerity in her voice startled me and I had to set down the tea before I could spill it.

The look in her eyes made my breathing stop. She was looking at me as if I had just saved her life. I looked closer into her eyes and saw they were watery.

"Narcissa-" I started.

She held up her hand to me, "I want to thank you for thinking of me, when you brought Draco here. I know that you two care about each other very much, anyone could see it. I hope that Draco realizes how lucky he is to have you."

I smiled at her, "I couldn't leave you there with him. Nobody deserves to be treated like that. Not Draco and not you."

"And certainly not you, Hermione. I'm sorry that you've had to go through everything that you have had to go through," Narcissa sighed.

I handed her a tea cup filled with tea and said, "It's alright. I'm sorry for all the hardships you and Draco have gone through. I'm sure it wasn't easy."

She smiled at me before she sipped her tea, "I truly do hope Draco doesn't let you go."
I flushed and ducked my head, unsure what of what to say.

I startled slightly as her hand rested atop of mine. She grinned at me, "I admire how strong you are, Hermione. You're exactly what Draco needs. Someone not afraid to get after him for his behavior."

I giggled slightly and opened my mouth to reply before I was cut off.

"-Yes! I am telling you that you all were wankers when you decided to let that man out of Azkaban. I am telling you that he assaulted not one, but two women in his own house this afternoon!"

Draco stormed into the room, his normally cool face a bright red that could put the Weasleys' hair to shame.

I stood, instinctively moving towards him.

Narcissa stood as well and took her tea with her, smiling slightly at me, "I'll leave you two alone. I need to ask your mother what the box is that's sitting in that corner there."

She retreated to the kitchen and my focus immediately snapped back to Draco.

"Yes! Thank you, it's about time you gits got a move on!" He paced across the room aggressively, "No, that's all. He will remain there correct?"

"How long?"

"Good."

He immediately turned to me, his face already beginning to lose the red flame to it.
