Buzz. Amelia's phone went off on the counter.

Hanna

Need to tell you something. Come over?

She frowned as she starred at the screen before actually opening the message. Sure, she typed before heaving herself from her comfortable position.

------------

The youngest Shepherd was nervous as she walked up the stairs into Hanna's apartment. Her mind was void of anything that it could be but was soon flooded with one conclusion as she saw Major O'Reilly standing in her uniform with a bag laying at her feet.

"Are you sure?" Was all she said.

After getting a nod from Hanna, Amelia almost ran over to hug her. The pair held eachother for a long time. By now she knew Hanna well, and though she may not have seen her in soldier mode but after memorial Day she could tell that she looked lost. And if going back with the army was what she needed then Amelia would be here to welcome her home when she was done.

"So back to the army," Amelia said after they had relaxed to sit on the couch.

"I'm a marine, I'm a soldier," Hanna explained, "I don't how I expected to heal after what these past few years threw at me without the routine that the army gives me. And after putting the uniform back on, there is nothing I can think of that I would rather be doing."

"So are you still gonna be a surgeon?" Amelia asked frowning slightly at her friend.

"No this time, I'm just gonna fight," Hanna said staring off into the wall, "being a soldier and a doctor is very stressful, it's the follow the orders, shoot the gun kind of routine that I'm craving. But, then again I'll probably still do a lot of the first aid medic stuff."

"So while you're getting shot at I'll sit here worried," Amelia on half joked, "cuddling your pillow, praying for you to be safe."

"I'll write to you," Hanna said softly as she turned to look at Amelia, "every day."

"And if the letters stop?" Amelia asked resting her head on the back of the couch.

"Just know I'm on my way home," Hanna all but whispered as she watch Amelia's worried face as she starred back up at her.
