Chapter 2 - Friends and Co-Workers

Y/N P.O.V.

I woke up exhausted, though I knew why.  Up until midnight I was watching YouTube, specifically Sketch and Bandi.  I walked down the stairs quietly and saw a note next to a cup of coffee. 

'Hey Y/N!  It's Kate.' I roll my eyes with a smile, who else could it have been?  Elijah?  Ethan?  'So, it was ten thirty and you weren't up yet so I decided to go for a little walk.  Maybe you could go over to Elijah and Ethan's house?  They said we were always welcome.'

I glance at the clock and sip the coffee (which was actually still warm). It was eleven in the morning, so knowing Kate, she probably left twenty minutes ago, not thirty.  Maybe I'd go over there for a little bit, it was better than sitting alone all day.  I finished the coffee and headed back up the stairs.  I put on a light pink shoulderless top with jeans, white high tops, and my hair in a braid.  Time to go.

Sketch's P.O.V.

I heard a knock on the door and got up to answer it, seeing Y/N there.  

 "Hey!  What brings you here?"

 "Nothing really, Kate left for a walk and I figured coming over here would be less lonely." I led her into the house, to the kitchen.

 "Are you hungry?  We have some muffins from yesterday or anything else." I don't really know why But I found myself staring for a second at her features.  The bright eyes, carefully braided hair, kind smile...  But I can't think anything like that of her, she could quite possibly have a boyfriend, after all, I've known her for a day.  Ethan walks in getting rid of all my daydreams. 

 " Hey Y/N!  I see you've already come over to say hi. "  

 "Yep!  Kate decided to leave me this morning so I stopped by." She giggled and looked up at me.  Quickly I turn to Ethan trying not to make it obvious that I was staring.

 " Hey, you wanna come upstairs and check out me and Ethan's recording setup?  It's not that interesting but it's something to do. "  I say and she nods.

 "I actually started going to college for video programming and editing, it'll be cool to see all the the stuff again.  I dropped out to see what else I could find, but I still love doing it!"  

 "I see we've met a fellow dropout, Ethan," I jokingly say with a grin.  "C'mon I'll show you to my room. " Y/N got up and followed me but Ethan stayed behind.  When we walked into my room I realized my bed wasn't made and I had clothes all over the floor.  I panicked but she didn't see to mind.  She was too busy looking at all of my cameras and my mic.

 "Man, whoever edits for you must be lucky!  This place is cool, you even have a dragon friend!"

 "Yeah, that's Frank.  And actually, this may have been good timing for both of us.  Ethan edits both of our videos, I've been looking around for someone to edit other than him since he's been getting busy.  Would you... be interested in editing for me?" I realize that that wasn't entirely true.  Ethan was getting busy but we hadn't been looking around yet.  But having someone like Y/N who lives so close could actually work out, not to mention the fact that we could get to know each other better.  She looked shocked at first, then really happy.

 "Ar-are you sure?  I mean, do you really want me?"

 "Sure!  You ve close and I can send you any videos that need editing, or you can just come over!"

 "Well, if you insist, I'd be happy to.  So, boss?" She held out her hand and I shook it.

" Think of me as the worker and you as the boss, after all, you could make me look as stupid as you'd like... just not too stupid I'd hope. " She laughed and so did I.  Ethan walked in and we asked him if he'd be okay with that.  In the end, Y/N was working as both of our editors!  After sitting around and talking for a while we all heard a knock at the front door.  We walked downstairs together as Ethan continued his conversation and I opened the door.  It was Kate, and Y/N jumped up with her phone in hand.

"Sorry, Kate!  It's lunchtime, isn't it!" She said, but Kate just laughed.

"You're fine, I scoped out the area and found a few restaurants that looked good.  Wanna go? "

"Hey! Me and Ethan could come too, it's my treat!  I know a great place!" I spoke up but regretted instantly.  I just invited myself.  Trying to cover it up I continue,  "I mean after all of you're out new editor... we could get to know each other better." I suck.

 "Oh my gosh!  You're their editor?  We need to go to lunch for that!  Are you guys good for pizza?" Kate said all excitingly as if she had drank three cups of coffee earlier.

 "Like I said, our treat.  I can drive you guys if you want.  Ethan, you got shotgun?"  He nods and Y/ N smiles.

 "Cool, so let's go, guys!" She dashed out the door linking arms with Kate.  Suddenly Kate stopped and whispered to her.  Y/N pushed her and they stood together outside of our car.  I nodded and they hopped into the back.  I started the car once Ethan was in and drove off as conversation never stopped the whole drive.

Hey, so this was chapter two.. .. It's still all building up to actual events but it helps you know how you and Sketch became so close.  Sorry for any cringe or mistakes through these, I'll try to post once or twice a day and won't do A/N on all of them... So yeah.
