She walked down the street, her bag hitting the side of her thigh every other step due to its unbalanced weight. Her golden yellow hair slicked back into a high pony tail with a pink hair tie. She hummed along to the song playing from her black earbuds. She was given the option of being driven to her first day at a public high school, but she insisted on walking, why you ask, because a 17-year-old girl showing up to school in a limo would look crazy. She likes attention but she just wanted to get through this chapter of her life quickly, as fast as she could.
Lucy's P.O.V
Why does the sun have to be so hot! I put this hoodie on so that my fancy, bright clothes wouldn't bring too much attention. I mean, yes, I'm wearing white shorts that no one would wear, and yes, my socks are bright pink and my shoes...are also white. I look weird. This hoodie doesn't even match. Dang it why do I have such cute outfits!
Huffing to myself, I realized how close I was to the school. I reached to take out my earbuds but stopped.
"I don't want to make an impression or really talk to anyone, so why should I even take these out? It's not like I'm going to be crowded anyway, I won't have to listen to anyone...why am I talking to myself"
I looked around absentmindedly at nothing and shrugged to myself. I decided to leave them in then quickly grabbed my phone out of my hoodie pocket before getting to the gate entrance and showed the back of it to one of the school officers. My ID was in the back of the cover so that it was easy to show people.
He gave me a silent nod and let my walkthrough. I gave him a smile before putting it back into my hoodie pocket and walking through the open doors of the school. The campus colors seemed to be yellow, orange, and black. While walking through the halls I noticed lots of people eyeing me, but I think it was probably because I have never been seen here before. Hopefully, I am forgotten by the end of the week.
It seemed like a high school in one of the books I've read. A frail guy with big glasses, messy hair, and very not cute buttoned-up polo shirts was getting pinned to one of the blue lockers by a tall, buff, scruffy-looking guy. There were even papers surrounding them, which were probably knocked out of the poor guy, who is now being attacked, hands.
I tried to avoid that situation and continued to walk down the hall, except the floor seemed much more interesting now. I stared at the ground as I looked up occasionally, to look at the signs on the walls, hoping that one of them said Office or Front Desk. But of course, just like in a book, I had to bump into someone.
"OOF-" The guy feel back, quite dramatically, and laid there playing dead while his buddies laughed and grabbed their groins while moving around awkwardly. I assumed that they might have been talking so I pulled my earbuds out and heard them playing rap, but it wasn't good rap. All they did was swear and rhyme very simple words.
The way they were dancing wasn't that good either, they soon set their attention on me and stopped their dancing. They then made weird, perverted facial expressions at me and tried to grab me to pull me closer. I quickly jumped over the guy I bumped into saying a quick sorry then ran to the nearest corner and hid in the hall.
"Well they were...interesting" I mumbled to myself, taking only a few seconds to catch my breath. I leaned against one of the lockers and looked up and down the hall and saw an arrow pointing to a door at the end that said Office. I did a little happy jig in my head and started jogging over.
I didn't really know what to do so I just opened the door and poked my head inside.
"Hello young lady, how can I help you?" I quickly turned my head in the direction of a big desk that a lady with snow-white hair was sitting at. My face heated a little from being spotted doing something so weird. I walked through the entrance and to her desk. I held my hands behind my back respectfully and smiled.
"Hi, I'm Lucy Heartfilia, I'm new and I was wondering where I would get my schedule?"
"Oh, did you not get one in the mail?"
I shook my head and answered no. She gave a slightly confused look then turned her attention to her computer screen. After typing away and a few clicks she finally brought her attention back to me and smiled.
"The copier is over there; your schedule should pop out any moment"
"Thank you, Ms..."
"Oh, just call me Mira, the Ms. makes me feel old"
I smiled and thanked her again before grabbed my schedule.
Before I left, I turned to her again and asked if I would have to see the principle at any point because I'm new, she said nope then told me to run off. I did as told and just shrugged it off. I then looked at my schedule and sighed to myself. I have all my harder classes first then my easiest ones in the middle of the day, then the most unpredictable ones at the end. Health class would probably be fun, it's my last class too so it might be calm.
I started my music again but before I could put my earbuds in the speakers went off.
"Don't you brats forget that club sign-ups eliminate your first three classes, so you only have to go to your last 3 classes today! But this doesn't mean you can just leave and come back when classes start, the officer at the front must see your ID and watch you walk in and stay in if you wish to not be marked absent! Believe me, we will tell your parents, you scoundrels!"
The speakers then cut off and again, before I could put my earbuds in, they turned back on.
"Also don't go to the roof, I don't need another underpants flag being hung up like last year!!!"
Finally. I put my earbuds in and started walking around the halls with the least amount of people. If I joined a club I would just stand out, its best to just stay out of sight. Hopefully, I can get away with this until it's all over.
