Frozen Stars

Chapter 7

Once the nurse doors had shut behind her, Lucy started to munch on the blueberry muffin while heading to the locker rooms. Already knowing Cana was going to be in her class, she was thinking of a way to apologize to her in a plain way yet come of sincere at the same time. 

Obviously, she was failing, and her furrowed brow was proof of that. She still was set on her path of not wanting friends, but she didn't want that to change her to someone she just wasn't. It would be unfair to Cana if Lucy didn't apologize so she needed to figure out how she was going to do quickly. 

Pulling herself out of thought she turned her attention back to what was in front of her and was surprised to see a tall muscular man waiting by the entrance. Oh no, he has a man bun, was Lucy's first thought.

Lucy P.O.V

"Are you Lucy?" He questioned. Nodding, I couldn't help but note the fact he had to look down to maintain eye contact with me. Man either I'm short or this guy is a giant, let's go with the giant.

"Yes sir, Guildarts correct?" He hummed then brought one of his crossed arms up to run his fingers against his stubbled chin. I listened quietly while munching on the muffin with a calm expression. This is one tasty pastry.

"Correct, I assume you will finish your muffin then join us? That is if you are up for it?" 

"Yep, sorry for causing any trouble if I did" I spoke shyly. Shoving the last bite of muffin in my mouth, I crumbling the wrapper in my hand. The feeling of its moistness from the muffin felt weird, causing me to cringed internally. Man, I guess that's why cool kids don't eat muffins.

Seeing I've finished he uses his strong arm to hold open the door for me, which I walk through and immediately throw the scrap into the trash can next to the entrance. I walked over to my locker and placed my phone inside it next to all my other items before closing it. I locked it and then started to make my way out. 

"Sit with the other students at the bleachers, it's a little too hot for what I had planned so we are just going to hang out for the rest of class" I yelled an ok behind me and started walking along the track. The school wasn't impressive but it wasn't embarrassing either. They had a huge football field surrounded by a track, It was basically one big rectangle inside an oval. On both sides were tall but lightly rusty looking bleachers. They looked to have a few years left before a kid fell through and broke his leg, though for now, they seemed fine.

Making my way over I noticed a garage with a car suspended in the air. Must be a welding or mechanic class, I thought. This school seems to have a lot I gotta give them that, no wonder they had club activities on the first day, they must have a tone of clubs as well. 

"Heeeey! Lucy! Come sit with me and Levy!" Turning my head up to where the sound was coming from I saw Cana standing, her arm securely wrapped around Levy's shoulders in a friendly embrace. I couldn't stop the slight rise in corners of my mouth when I saw Levy weakly waving mouthing 'Help' to me. Though from this distance I doubt they were able to notice.

Sighing, I knew there was no way I could get out of this so reluctantly, my feet carried me up the steps to the two smiling teens. Levy patted the seat between them, inviting me to sit, so I did. Throwing her arm around my shoulders, Cana gave me a grin and brought her face close to mine. 

"You're a really cool girl you know that? I like your style, honey! So what are you, emo, edgy, please don't say you're angsty"

"Cana!" Levy scolded, leaning in, her hands scrunched into fists in front of her. She frowned at her as if saying 'That's so insensitive!'.

"Uhhh, I don't really know, and someone picked these clothes for me to wear today. I admit I like it but I like it more for the laid back feel" I explained honestly. They both stared at me quietly for a minute before Cana let out a loud laugh causing me to jump.
