I'm Strong

You can do this, Chloe! I thought to myself as I stood in front of the employee entrance of the new opening restaurant in Tokyo. I had applied for a chefs position while I was still a student at Tōtsuki when I had learned about it from an old friend. I had graduated with top scores and outstanding shokugeki wins. So I had plenty of offers giving to me, but I needed a fresh start, but something familiar. French cuisine is what I had mastered in school, I was even the president of the French Cuisine club in school for three years. It took almost a whole year before I was hired by the former first seat, Kojiro Shinomiya. His restaurant in France was very popular and he had built it all up by himself to get where he is today. There's no one I'd rather work for until I can make it somewhere myself. Taking in a deep breath I opened the door, stepping inside quickly to see workers running about to set up for the night. A woman stopped in front of me, she was wearing a servers uniform and her name tag read "Gao Wei, Service Manager". She was slightly tall with raven black hair pulled into a bun.
"May I help you?" She asked sternly with a French accent.
"Yes, I'm Chloe Valentine, I'm the new intern," I spoke as clearly as I could, even though I was shaking in my shoes.
"Ah yes very well, follow me," she walked into the kitchen where a tall blonde man stood chopping vegetables quietly.
"Hey, where's Shino?" She asked him.
"In his office as always," he stopped turning around. He peered at me for a minute before putting his knife down, placing his hand on his hip. "Who's she?"
"She's the new intern from Tōtsuki," Gao spoke.
"Huh, I'm Abel Blondin, the head chef here, you'll be following orders not only from Shino but from me as well got it?" He sneered out before going back to chopping. Gao began walking down a back hallway that lead to a door with a plate beside it reading out the owners name, Kojiro Shinomiya. I gulped as she knocked on the door and muffled "come in" was heard from the other side. Gao pushes the door open and stepped aside for me to step inside. Stepping in I saw the pink haired man leaning over paper work, scribbling fast at such a calm and collected manner.
"The new interns here, you need to go over with her about everything here, we're still prepping for tonight," Gao said before walking out, closing the door behind her. I stood there for a moment, not really sure how to handle things.
"Sit," he ordered. I sat in the only chair in front of the desk, waiting for him to speak up again. He stopped writing and sat up looking straight at me. The light from the overhead light casted a glare on his glasses so I couldn't see his eyes properly, but his facial features showed he was a very handsome man.
"So, Miss. Valentine, I see you've worked hard to get to this point in time, so I hope you know not to disappoint me," he said handing over a bag that contained a uniform and name tag.
"Thank you, Sir!" I exclaimed quickly.
"You'll officially start tomorrow afternoon, I want you here at twelve to start prepping for the night, it'll give you enough time to study the recipes for the night and get everything done, Abel will direct you for everything that needs done, you will listen to everything he says with no complaints or you'll be fired, understood?" He asked sipping from his water. Geez, he's not kidding about being strict.
"Yes, sir! Thank you so much for this opportunity!" I bowed my head in thanks.
"Good, as for tonight you'll stay in here and study for my main recipes, they are always placed around the kitchen but I need my cooks to be able to know them without looking at them, especially the everyday ones, every platter must be perfect, so don't disappoint, you can leave when you're done," he said before getting up and walking out the door. After releasing a breathe I went over every recipe word by word, ingredient by ingredient, step by step. Until it was planted in my brain, I was very good at mesmerizing recipes, and this isn't the first I had studied one of the famous Shinos recipes. After hours upon hours of studying, I stretched and was about to head out before the door opened and Shino himself stepped in.
"Oh you're still here?" He asked looking at the neatly stacked papers on his desk.
"Yes, I was just leaving, Sir," I spoke up.
"Hm, well have a good night then," he said stepping around me to sit at his desk, he looked exhausted.
"Goodnight, sir," I said before stepping out and walking down the hall to the exit door. Before getting to the door I was bumped into by that Abel guy, rather harshly I should say.
"Watch where you're going! In this kitchen you need to watch what you're doing or you're done!" He sneered before walking into the changing room. I frowned at him before shaking my head and walking out to the chilly air. Pulling my jacket around me tighter, I hailed a taxi home.
