Michael had told me he had a surprise for me that morning and I was kind of concerned; he never surprises me and that was really unexpected. He was always really absolute at his saying and he never really hid things from us, and if he does, it’s because he wants us to understand things on our own. He’s more of a teacher with other people, especially when it comes for the ones he loves. I was sitting on my couch reading a random book I found in my library, but I wasn’t as concentrated as I should. My thoughts were completely somewhere else.
I couldn’t believe that I was that old; I existed since forever! I don’t know how much is forever, but it was enough to make me realize that I was the one to cause love to people. I made everyone feel loved and needed and good about others and themselves. What a thing love is! So powerful, and dangerous I can say. I hadn’t actually experience the bad side of love, but for some reason, I wanted to. I wanted to see that bad, deathly side of me.
And now I mentioned death, I was absolutely overwhelmed to learn that Electra and Luke were finally together! I had been Electra’s best friend since her creation and all that because I wanted to keep what she had with him alive. And I remembered all the times her feelings were puzzled and she was about to erase him from her life and find another guy, but I was there to change her mind, that’s why we both that intimacy since we first met at the hospital. The thing was that Luke didn’t fade away and Electra was still alive, so I guess that was a plus.
It also turned out that Leah is a hunter. Yes, she’s a human and she can be killed but kill as well. She met Luke alone in a forest after the second kick out of the Purgatory, she didn’t have a clue of what he was, but she noticed he was injured and took him home and look him after. She discovered the holes in his back and he showed his wings. They discussed and then planned everything out; how they would introduce themselves to us and all. She knows how to kill every single monster on this planet, except God and Lucifer. These two can’t be killed easily, she had claimed. She drove me and Electra to her place and showed us her private room, where she hid guns, spell books, holy water, salt, knives and other dangerous to us stuff. She didn’t seem that badass, but she was. When Electra asked her how and why she became a hunter, she answered: “Because someone has to protect the world from sons of bitches like you”. I had left offended at that moment and she realized my dissatisfaction and said that one angel had killed her siblings when she was about 8 years old, so she decided to fight everything that dared to approach her parents. She didn’t know that what had killed her siblings was an angel, when the same thing killed her parents. Then, at the age of 14, she stopped believing and worshipping God and became a hunter with a fake ID card. She seemed older than her age so it was easy to do anything she wanted. Then I understood why she didn’t trust anyone. “I stopped being sure about angels because Devil himself was once one of them and you know how it ended” were her exact words, and it send shivers down my spine at the memory of Lucifer stealing Electra from Luke. It was even more frightening if you just had witnessed Luke’s mourn that time. What a broken heart he had… I don’t even want to recall this now.
But I really admired Leah; she was such a brave soul. Maybe a little different that most humans I had met, but she was much of a special person. All her family had died, she had no one, but she didn’t give up. She fought, she travelled and she bled a lot in her life, but that’s what made her the hero she is today. But there was a thing I couldn’t understand; why she dated Calum. I couldn’t call to mind the reason she trusted him, although she detested demons more than angels. I had to ask him, despite the whining that was going to come after my interrogation. Wish I could read minds too. As it seems, I’m stuck on predicting the future, and that’s not even with my own will. Damn.
I heard the characteristic knock on the door, and I knew Michael was home. I tossed the book (without marking the page) on the other side of the couch, as I jolted from my spot in a swift move, and walked to the porch. As soon as I opened the door, I outfaced a childish-smiling Michael holding a box, looking at me thrilled. I shot him a questioning glare, as I glanced at the box and then back at him, as he made a stupid face and he giggled, forcing me to laugh. I made a step back to motivate him come in. He scooted to the living room, placing the box on the couch. He stood still, eyeing me, waiting for me to ask.
