Persephone’s P.O.V.
Oh man, I was so broken. I was so mad at myself for kicking her out, but I also needed to take a final decision. I felt relieved for finally announcing what had been torturing me so long. However, I had realized that she actually wanted to stay with me, she was pleading for a second chance, but I guess you can’t endow people with second chances the whole fucking time; sometimes they just have to get over it and accept that when something is done, it’s done. Under those circumstances, I wouldn’t risk my family’s life for a second chance. Even if it was my other half.
Aphrodite was always messing around, and especially with Michael, which was kind of annoying. I didn’t want this woman to breathe around my soulmate, not because I was being the typical jealous girlfriend, but because I knew there was something truly wrong with her. Whenever I kept asking Michael what she was up to, or what type of relation they had so she can call him baby or Babyboy the whole time, he was acting a bit aggressively, turning me down. So I decided to search on my own.
Talking to Calum after a long time of nonsense conversations, it was a weight which I happily put off of my shoulders. He talked to me about – almost – everything that had been troubling his mind all this time, and it was pretty much what I had been expecting; the war, and the rest of us. I didn’t dare to ask about Leah because I had understood he wasn’t going to explain anything if I kept putting so much pressure on him about this, so I decided to let him talk about that whenever he felt comfortable about it. Besides, if the mighty War happened, it wouldn’t matter anymore, as some of us would probably die.
We discussed about Aphrodite’s life story, and he more or less explained everything about her; as she had already informed us, she was the goddess of love, beauty and sex, to put it less kind. There are three different stories explaining her birth, but my favorite was the one where Cronos unsexed Uranus and threw his genitals in the sea, and then she arose from the sea foam. That explained why she craved all this dick. However, regardless my preference for the humiliating version, she was actually the daughter of Zeus and Dione. Long story short, her prostitution is due to her adultery, as she was forced to marry poor Hephaestus, who was considered the most unattractive god, and she ended up cheating on him with literally everyone, both gods and humans. (Just like her father). And that was the reason nobody gave a single crap about her when Angels and Gods fought for leadership in the skies. (I hadn’t joined this war, I preferred to stay home and watch over my fellow female angels). After the war, Michael, Rafael and Gabriel found her hiding in Olympus and were about to kill her, she begged for mercy and our boys felt sorry for her, and carried her home. (Even then, she was still all over Michael, which was proof why I despised her presence). Then, when we all treated her like a princess and gave her support and healed her wounds and injuries, we decided to send her back to Olympus to establish in her territory, but under one condition; she would never come in contact with our kind ever again. Calum, though, mentioned something that I had forgotten; Michael was the one to take her back to Olympus and help her make herself feel like home. He stayed there for a month to help her regain her powers.
“Did he mention what had happened during that month? Like, besides taking care of her?” I asked, and Calum seemed sceptic for a few seconds.
He shook his head negatively. “Not really, he just accomplished his mission and came back to usual stuff.”
“Did he acted oddly?” I asked again, but I received the same negative shake of his furry head. “I can’t remember much from that period, to be honest.”
“Maybe they had a fight while he was staying with her. Why don’t you ask him?”
“I did! He’s not being clear, neither honest…”
