Stressed/Guilty

Emma was staring at Calum who himself stared at the hair dye aisle (plus the quick glance at the doors anytime they swooshed) from his closed till as he popped starbursts into his mouth. It wasn't anything new to have Walmart randomly close a till so he didn't draw anymore attention that usual.

Emma had noticed that he had a fresh blond streak in his hair which she thought was really hot. She desired to walk over there and let him know that after she had left him immediately he dried her hair without a thank you or anything other than the profanities she offered as she slipped on her way out the mens bathroom like the awkward human she was.

The run home was the hardest, her vesper refused to start and the rain wasn't helping her already gloomy thoughts so she sped off without it.

On her way to work she passed the neglected mini mart branch of the large franchise, seeing her vesper there but always gone as she passed it on her way back to her ratty attic.

Emma continued to roam the aisles, stopping and caressing the beautiful electronics that she knew she would never be able to afford with her runaway budget. Sure, she could go back to her well-off parents and plead for them to forget she left, which she knew they willingly would but, she knew going back would mean forgave them for what they did to Anne.

It was purely unforgivable.

There was so much laying on Emma's back it hurt to breathe. It had been easy being distracted by Calum because he was everything anyone could ever wish to deserve and her wish had come prematurely which set her on the edge one could describe as fear.

If she lost him, She would be loosing the only thing going anywhere more that alright for her.

She began to hear Calum's starburst filled voice come become louder. Emma turned round to face Calum  assisting a fiery haired boy to where she was, she knew she had to face him eventually and it looks like it was time.

"Oh, and the vibrators are here if you would like some?"

Emma began to laugh as the guy he was attending to began going into detail about how he'd shove it up Calum's nose, bringing the attention to her. "Emma?"

"Hey." She smiled.

They stared at each other awkwardly before Michael grunted at Calum who obviously didn't catch it, "Hi, I'm Michael." he said, eyeing him bitterly.

"I love your hair!" Emma began, reaching upwards and looking at the ombre-like design, as she separated the roots, it was obvious that it hadn't begun that way but she didn't really care. it still looked pretty damn awesome.

"Thanks, Calum goes on about how it makes me look like a Pokemon-"

"Which it does." Calum piped up.

"Well they are fucking amazing so thank you."He looked briefly at the time on his phone and said he had a movie to catch in 15 before exchanging pleasantries with Emma and leaving.

Since Michael had been the centre of the conversation, when he left, an awkward silence dawned on them as neither of them could think of what they wanted to say first.

"Why haven't you been answering your phone?" Calum asked as he threw the last starburst in his mouth.

When she got back to her 'flat', she had received a call from her parents, begging her to return home and apologizing furiously for what they had done. Emma couldn't bring herself to pick it up sat on the floor with the voice mails flowing in causing her to cry.

She could never forgive them for what they did; for taking her sister away from her. as the voice mails continued to rush in she tried so hard to turn it off but her shaky hands were no good. Emma lost it and threw her phone at the wall and it being the piece of Motorola crap it is, didnt break but dented a the peach walls, something she wasn't ready to explain to her landlord. She ended up throwing the phone out the window and watched contently as a Mercedes drove over it.

"It fell in a puddle," She sighed.

Calum laughed and began walking, gesturing for her to follow him, "So what colour are we going for today?"

"I may be stealing your friends hair, today" Emma smiled, walking alongside him to the familiar aisle
