I Got The Girl
(Y/n) smoothed down her dress, admiring herself in the mirror. Tonight was the school's Valentine dance and (Y/n)had decided to attend so that she could have an excuse to wear an expensive dress that she had bought for a wedding last year. The (h/c)-haired female loved the dress but never had an occasion for it.
It was a dulled peachy colour with off-the-shoulder straps and small shimmery flowers on the bodice that grew sparse at the waist. The dress was full length with two layers - one opaque and the other a tulle lace with a band at the bottom. It flowed elegantly, moving softly like a cloud at sunset. It was paired with a pair of simple shiny heels of the same colour.
Her (h/c)tresses were styles into a crown bun with a thick braid. Some of the (h/c) locks were curled and framed her (b/t) face. A few small white flowers from the box garden on her window were pinned into the style.
To accompany the rest of her look, soft pink eyeshadow painted her eyelids, blending out perfectly while a darker shade emphasised her crease. Her sleek black eyeliner was winged and paired with a thin line of glittery champagne pink eyeliner. Her lashes were voluminous with the help of mascara too.
She had been asked by Edward Kenway to accompany him to the dance - she didn't know the popular boy all that well but knew that he hadn't invited her out of any affection for her. He had recently left Anne Bonny, having grown bored of her and wanting to move onto his next target. But, (Y/n)was smart and knew to not fall for anything he said else she would end up like the rest of his long list of exes. Though she only accepted because she wanted a chance to dress up - she didn't find herself interested in the blonde male whatsoever. In fact, she was confused about her feelings for one of her classmates. (Y/n)shared her desk in history with Anne Bonny.
(Y/n)had no idea how she felt about her. She often imagined what it would be like to be her girlfriend but she was next to certain that her little daydreams wouldn't come to pass. Though, she couldn't help but admire her tanned skin, light brown eyes and her pinkish-red hair - the (h/c)-haired female adored the little floral clips that she decorated her shoulder-length tresses with. But those little flowers were very misleading. Anne was fiery and passionate - if she cared about something, was happy or was angry. . . it showed.
There was a firm knock on the door, interrupting her train of thought, and (Y/n)quickly applied a thin layer of clear lip gloss before scurrying over to the door. She opened it to reveal Edward Kenway, clad in a light grey suit with his blonde locks tied back into a small bun. His face lit up upon seeing the (s/t)-skinned female all dressed up. But, (Y/n)noticed his eyes lingering over her chest for a little longer than she was comfortable with. A reminder of why he was really trying to get with her.
"You look great, love." He smirked as he raised a brow.
"Thank you." The (e/c)-eyed female spoke, a smile pulling at her lips, "You do too. Ready?" The two were almost ready to leave when a voice stopped them.
"Wait!" It called from around the corner from the door, inside the living room. A woman with hazel green eyes and (h/c)hair stepped out, wearing leggings and a hoodie. (Y/n)'s mother.
