Qotd: What's a song that makes you feel good about life? (Another Day to Stay Alive/Losing Weight - Olivia Ruby)

Jealous?

Connor Kenway was practically seething. His teeth were gritted as he watched her giggle away, twirling a stray lock of (h/c) hair as she straightened her back and never broke eye contact with the man next to her.

Usually, he wasn't the sort of person to give into a blind rage - he would take those powerful emotions and turn them into tactical thinking. But not in this situation. She was his! So why was she flirting with someone else?

Connor Kenway, Jacob Frye and (Y/n) (L/n) had all been sent out on a mission to spy at a pub where enemies of the brotherhood frequented to discuss plans. Though, so far all their sidelong glances and eavesdropping resulted in being fruitless. Therefore, out of boredom, (Y/n) had picked up a conversation with Jacob which led to how she was acting now.

The brown-haired Brit seemed unbothered by her subtle advances - hell, he even looked to be enjoying himself. But to say Connor wasn't enjoying himself in the situation would be the greatest understatement to ever be spoken. Why should he have to watch his fiancée flirt with another man when he didn't even glance at another woman in any place other than her eye? He cast his focus elsewhere to try and calm his simmering anger.

A barmaid buzzed around the tavern, wiping down tables and dodging grabbing drunken hands. The atmosphere was built from the strong smell of alcohol mixed with the pungent smells of sweat and a little vomit from the farmer who had to leave with a friend a few minutes back after he realised he couldn't hold his drink. Men laughed and yelled and sang (most of them drunkenly) while the few women in the bar either kept to their husbands or were local whores, looking for a penny or two to bring in before the night ended.

The room was lit up by candles that were set into holders in the walls between paintings and framed sketches. A fairly small stag's head was preserved on the wall above the entrance. 'The Buck and Doe' the tavern was called and it was clear why they named it such after seeing the trophy that had been made of the hunted creature. The golden light from the candles danced in the room, the wax dripping slowly, patiently down the candles sides while the hot flames licked and danced in what would have been darkness.

The bronze-skinned male cleared his throat rather loudly, hoping to catch the attention of his distracted lover. She cottoned on to his hint and subtly dismissed Jacob by politely asking him to order her another drink from the bar.

"What's wrong?" She questioned with a knowing smile on her face, placing her elbow in the table so that she could lean her head in her hand, grinning like a mischievous feline.

"You're flirting." The half-native put bluntly, wanting to get his point across so that she would stop and he wouldn't have to worry or get worked up about anything.

"How can you be so certain?" She raised an (h/c) brow teasingly, her smile twisting into a smirk - not one of malice but one of a somewhat twisted amusement.

"(Y/n). . ." Connor spoke warningly, a dark and drawled out tone that sent a delicious shiver down her spine, unleashing energetic butterflies in her stomach as a jolt of excitement ran through her being.
