I bobbed my head to the music as I walked down the school halls. With one earbud on, I nodded and greeted eager students who passed by. I smiled at the front office lady as I entered the school office, who in return, smiled back. She handed me a stack of papers, a bright pink sticky note placed on top.

"This is for you, Zelda. Have a nice summer, dear." She said as I took the papers from her. I gave her a nod and replied. "Thank you, Mrs. William. You have a great summer too."

I turned around and walked back out. I ripped the pink sticky note off the papers and read it aloud. "Hey Zellie. Here's the papers for the student enrollment for camp. I hope you have a good time. From, Principle Myers."

I sighed as I flipped through the pages quickly. I stopped walking as I got to my best friend, Lucina's, car. I walked over to dark blue Honda Civic and opened the door, sliding inside. I looked over to my friend in the divers seat, who was tapping away on her phone. I pulled put my earbud.

"Did you get the papers?" She asked, still on her phone. I stifled a laugh but answered. "Yes, I did. We can look at them when we get to your house. Now, come on, let's go, Lucina!" I said as I tossed my purple backpack in the back.

She mumble something along the lines of "Yeah, yeah, whatever" but nonetheless, put her phone away. I buckled my seatbelt as she did the same. She put the keys into he ignition and started the car.

She turned to look at me, excitedly. "It summer time! I've been waiting this entire school year." I held the same excited look. "I know. This is gonna be great. I have a feeling this summer is going to be different from the rest!"

Oh, how right I was.

It took us about 10 minutes to reach her house, us mostly talking about how we want our summer to go. She pulled the keys out and faced me. "Zelda, maybe this is the year."

I pulled my backpack from the backseat and gave her a confused look, "What do you mean?" She bounced with giddiness as she answered. "A boyfriend! Maybe this summer, you'll find a cute guy." She winked as I rolled my eyes.

"Sorry to burst your bubble, Lucina, but that will never happen." I said as I slung my purple Jansport backpack over my shoulder. She pouted as we walked to the front door of her house. "Oh, Zelda. You never what could happen." She suddenly grinned. "Because who knows."

I raised a brow. "Uh, I know. I'm not gonna get a boyfriend. I'm too busy with my education to worry about that kind of stuff." I quickly added. "And besides, who would want to go out with me?"

She gave a incredulous look. "What on earth are you saying? Zelda, guys at school chase after you! Your too busy with your education you don't realize how much guys do like you." She was about to add more when she was cut off by a loud bing.

She apologized and pulled out her phone. I sighed as I waited for her to finish and open the door.

She shoved her phone in her back pocket and apologized again. "Sorry, it's Rosalina. She wants to know of she could bring some friends with her to the camp." Lucina quickly fished out her house keys and opened the door. I rushed in, dumping my bag on the side of the living room couch.

I breathed in the air before sitting down on comfortable couch. "Sure, who's she bringing?" I looked over at my shoulder to look at Lucina, who was rummaging through the fridge in the kitchen.

She grabbed something from the fridge and ran over the the couch I was seated on. She jumped on the couch, making me bounce slightly. I giggled quietly before repeating my question. "So, who does she want to bring?"

Lucina opened a pack of skittles, and shrugged. "Just some friends."

I raised a brow. "Um, Lucina, names please?" She popped a skittle into her mouth before answering. "It's nobody. Don't worry bout it, Zel."

I gave her a glare when she looked down at her pack of skittles.

Just what is she hiding?

I brushed the thought away as she looked back at me. I cleared my throat and asked, "You got any soda, Luc?"

She shook her head. "Not any that you like." I frowned, "Why do you always get dark sodas? You know I like stuff like Sprite and SevenUp." I whined as I stood up.

I grabbed my backpack and zipped opened the small
pocket. I shuffled through it until I found my money. I pulled out a five and turned to Lucina. "Hey, I'm gonna go to the liquor store down the street, Kay? I'll be back in about 10 minutes."

She nodded her head, her blue hair bouncing around her. "Kay."

I headed to the small liquor store that was about a block away from Lucina's house. I was too busy deep in thought to see or hear the loud shouts from behind me. I turned around, too late to dodge the boy riding on his skateboard at full speed.

He crashed into me, both of us stumbling on the floor, him landing on top of me. I groaned but recovered from the unexpected move. The boy stood up quickly and dusted himself off.

He walked over to his now busted up skateboard and glared at me. "Thanks a lot! You ruined my new skateboard!" He examined all the dings and marks that covered the board.

I gaped at him. Is he serious? He just ran into me and he's complaining about his board! Does he even care about me?

He turned to me and pointed a finger at me. "Your buying me a new board!" I closed my open mouth and glared at him. "Excuse me? You hit me! You should be apologizing."

He walked up to me, his tall frame towering over me. "I'm not apologizing for anything. You didn't move. It's your fault and now your gonna buy me a new board! Kapeesh?"

I stood up quickly, my small frame no where near as intimidating as his. "No, Kapeesh! I'm not buying you anything! You could've stopped, you jerk!" He narrowed his eyes. "Fine! Whatever, but don't think I'll let this go that easily. I'll get you back. You just watch." He turned and walked off, me gazing after him.

I yelled after him the only thing that came into my mind "Whatever!"

I dusted myself off and walked back on to the liquor store, my mind now suddenly coming up with good comebacks.

I felt pain surge through my leg and I abruptly stopped walking. I winced and bent down a little to get a good look at my leg. I lifted up my white, now dirty, skirt.

There, a large cut trailed from my knee down my leg. It was bleeding, but not too harshly. I grunted when I attempted to walk again but the pain quickly returned.

I sighed with frustration when I heard shout. I looked over and saw Lucina running over. I felt relief wash over me as I saw her figure getting closer.

"Hey, Zelda! I thought I'd join you. Got kinda lonely-- anyways, what are standing here for? I thought you'd be at the liquor store by now." Lucina panted when she finally reached me.

I pointed to my leg. "Some guy crashed into me with his skateboard and I have a huge cut on my leg." I said as I lifted my skirt up slightly to show her.

She grimaced. "Ouch! That's gotta hurt. You wanna go back or keep on going?"

I shrugged. "You know what? Let's just go back. I'm not really thirsty anymore." She nodded and helped back to her house.
