All of my bruises were healing nicely and Emma's few scratches had disappeared by the time the next Friday rolled around, tonight was the party that James wanted all of us to go to.
The thing is, I sill needed to convince Emma to go. I wanted to go and have fun with my friends but I also didn't want to go without Emma. Especially after last time. I was laying in bed while staring at the wall thinking of how I could convince her. Maybe I could go to her house and talk her into it. I could text her and talk her into to it. Nah, in person would be better.
I pushed myself up from my position and stood up, putting on my shoes and grabbing my skateboard, Grayson had the car and had to pick up James for the party and said he'd swing by and get me wherever I ended up being. The house or Emma's. I threw my gray hoodie on and a beanie before heading out the door.
I glided down the sidewalk and music blasted into my ears from my earbuds. After a little while I made it to Emma's, coming to a stop and grabbing the board with my hand. I casually made my way to the door and began to knock.
After a few seconds the door swung up revealing someone other than Emma. Mr. Chamberlain stayed in the doorway and looked at me.
"Uh, I'm here for Emma," I spoke up.
"Why?" He questioned. I was starting to be confused.
"We had planned to hang out... Is everything okay?" At this point the way he looked at me was odd.
"I suppose it is now, but the last time you two were by yourselves my baby ended up kidnapped because of you," he said as he crossed his arms across his chest.
I scratched the back of my head. As if I wasn't already beating myself up about that.
"I'm sorry about that, I never meant to get her into that mess and I promise I would save her before I save myself," I said honestly. He looked into my eyes before turning around slowly.
"Emma, Ethan's here!" He called upstairs before walking away.
Emma walked down the stairs and she had done her makeup, she knew I wanted to hang out so I guess she got ready. I smiled as she stepped onto the porch with me and closed the door behind her. I pulled her to me and placed a kiss to her lips, tracing my thumb on her cheek.
"So Emma, about hanging out," she gave me a questionable look.
"Yeah... what?" She asked in reply.
"We're going to the party," I said with a wink. She frowned.
"I-I would rather not, can't we just stay here and be together?" She asked. I wouldn't mind staying here with her but I knew she would have fun if she would just come.
"Please Em, for me? I love you."
"Fine," she mumbled. I texted Gray to pick us up and he said he'd be there shortly.
Emma and I sat down on her top step and I placed my hand in hers, squeezing it lightly. She squeezed back and looked up at me. I rubbed the back of her hand with my thumb and leaned in, kissing her softly. The pace quickened as our mouths moved in sync and our breaths mixed. I licked along her bottom lip and she allowed me to roam inside her mouth. We were so lost in each other that we didn't even notice Grayson and James had pulled up. That's when I heard my brother and his wheezing.
"E stop eating her and let's go," he laughed some more. I flicked him off as we stood and walked hand in hand to the car.
After a while we arrived to the party. I didn't know where we were exactly but I had my arm around Emma and she stayed close to me as we walked up the stairs and into the house. There was already semi-loud music and a few red cups sitting around. I felt Emma tense as a random dude walked by and stared at us. I almost spoke but didn't.
