Embracing Darkness

The fight between Strawhat Ruffy, the Whitebeard pirates, Jimbei and the marines has already started, when suddenly a loud crash gains everyone's attention. On one of the frozen waves is standing a tall young woman. Her raven hair whipping around her face in the wind. Her azure blue orbs are glowing. "You dare touch my husband, you sorry excuses of human beings? You want a battle?", she yells. Aces eyes fill with tears. "I'll bring you a WAR!" "SUNSHINE!!" Ace voice echoes through the air. Darkness. Waves of darkness whip out from the woman, taking a grasp on the gravity of the whole island and the ones next to it. Houses crack and start levitating over the ground. People scream in fear. The admirals are also now levitating, shocked at the sheer amount of power in her. Kizaru sends light rays her way but they disappear in one of the 9 gigantic black holes that she has created. Whitebeard himself stares at his daughter. He knew the devils fruit he left them was powerful, but they are only useable to the extent the user is willing to go. Dark markings begin to swallow her body until only the glowing orbs are left. Ace watches and he knows that she will win for him. Helplessly floating the admirals can't do anything when dark spikes impale every marine and every Blackbeard pirate they can reach. Screams of the men enduring the piloting, the spikes soon turning them into sea urchins as they are trying to fight for their lives but fail in vain, fill the heavy air laced with the scent of death. Not even the magma fruit wants to work. Nor the ice fruit. The admirals heads are gallantly being sliced off by the dark being Sunshine has become. She walks up to Ace. Closer and closer and cuts through the seastone shackles with ease. She then wraps her arms around him and he his around her body. "Nee-san! Onii-san!" Ruffy flings himself towards them and they catch him. "Sunshine! Enough." Her dads voice snaps the girl out of her daze and the black holes disappear, so does her armour of darkness. Buildings shatter as they hit the ground and break apart. She looks at the red haired man and smiles. "Dad!" He walks through the maze of bodies under the watchful eye of Whitebeard and closes in on Sunshine. They stand in front of each other and then they hug. So tightly it will probably leave bruises. "Daddy.", she whispers and he smiles softly. "You did well. You defended your family." She smiles and nods. Then she jumps at Ace and captures his lips in a kiss. He wraps his arms around her and smiles as she gently touches every bruise and wound on his body. She cups his face, tears flooding her eyes. "Are you hurt? Are you injured?" "I'm fine. Thanks to you.", Ace tells her. She is crying happily, the tears drowning herself. She kisses his cheeks, his forehead, his hair, his hands, his lips and then cradles him, holding him close to her. "I was so scared! I was so fucking worried Ace! I love you! I love you so much! Don't ever do this to me again." He nods, pulling her closer to him. His rough fingers, from the time in his cell, brush through her soft hair and he closes his eyes, relishing the feeling of touching her again. Of being able to touch her hair. Smell her sweet scent. He could make love to her right there and right now but both Pops as well as her dad would most definitely kill him. "Come here, little brother.", Ace tells Ruffy who joins the hug, sobbing as his older siblings hold him closer, care for him like the family they are. "Ace... Do you want to stay with Sunshine for a while? If Shanks let's you?" Ace nods. "I'd love that." Shanks looks at him then nods. "My daughter loves you more than anything. We've all seen it today. And if you make her happy, I'll accept you for now." "Sunny-ya!" "Law!" Ace and Ruffy both look to the man wearing the fluffy hat. "Hey! We are here too!" "Kid! Killer! Bepo. Heat. Shashi. Penguin. You all came?" She smiles and jumps up, hugging Kid, who shoved his way to the front first. "You did one hell of a job, little lady.", he grins. "This is as close as I'll ever get to a compliment from you, so thank you Kid. I'm glad to see you alive and well.", she smiles and the quirky dressed red head without eyebrows chuckles, ruffles her hair. "Killer! My favorite man in a mask!", she smiles and hugs the blond man, who throws her into the air like someone would a child, making everybody who isn't used to it sweatdrop. "Eclipse really killed, huh?" "It massacred." He chuckles and pats her head. "Glad to see you alive kiddo." "You are only 4 years older than me!" "Still older!", he tells her and she playfully shoves him. "Now finally! Law!" She jumps at the tall male, making him laugh silently. "I guess I should check your husband before we leave, to make sure he is well." "You'd do that?", she sparkles, making Kid and Killer grit their teeth, worried about him taking the best friend spot.. Even though he already secretly has it but shush. "Sure." "Thank you so much! Bepo! My fluffy baby!" She squeezes the polar bear. "Sorry." "It spoke.", everyone who doesn't know the heart pirates mumbles. "I'm sorry." "So easily down." Sunshine greets the rest of her all male friend group, introduces them to her family, Whitebeard and his crew.

Then they all go, unbothered by the marines. They had too huge of a loss that day.

Later that evening, Ruffy left with Law, immediately taking a liking to the serious and slightly sadistic male, Ace cuddles with Sunshine in her huge bed in her cabin. His head is resting on her chest and she combs through his slightly moist hair with her fingers, feeling blissful to have him there with her. "How did you do it? I mean.. I knew you were powerful. But this extend..", Ace asks her and she chuckles. "I embraced the darkness in my powers. They are meant to fight and to kill. And I decided to let them have almost full control. The darkness decided. Not me. The only thing I asked of them are save Ace and his family. And it did, didn't it." Ace nods slightly, then tilts his head, kissing his wife. She is wrapped up in him. In his love and his warmth. His embrace. She takes in his natural scent of smoke, fire, cedar wood, sun, sea and now faintly something else. Their scents were mixing. Becoming one.

It was the day the darkness was willing to sacrifice itself to safe the flame, that the fire started to smell like the darkness. The two opposites becoming one.
