Kaiden P.O.V
I walked down the side walk my hands in my pocket.
"Did you know dolphins are just gay sharks." Xavier said swaying as he walked.
"Can you shut up? God your drunk." I sighed
"No no, no I'm not." He said his voice higher pitched
"When did you even get the time to drink that much?!?" I asked genuinely surprised.
"When you were locking lips with that blonde girl." Xavier said yawning.
I sighed internally.
"What was gonna happen if I hadn't stopped you huh?" I said angrily
"I don't know. What do you think?" He defended
"You were gonna get some STD or end up a dead beat dad in high school. Is that what you want?" I ranted
I stopped walking and glared at Xavier. He stopped walking a few feet ahead of me and turned looking at me with a blank expression.
I grew more angry at his emotionless face.
"Say something!" I yelled
"What do you want me to say. The world suck and we're all gonna die so live right now? What do you expect for me to say! We're all gonna get stabbed?" Xavier got angrier with every word before he was yelling right back.
I stared wide eyed as the tears began to well up. Not because he yelled but because he would use Quinten against me like that.
"Y-You..." I couldn't even say anything because a lump formed in my throat from the memories.
"Kaiden, listen." He said reaches his hand out and stepping closer.
I slapped his hand away.
"You can't use Quinten like that. You don't have the right to use him against me." I said my voice wavering.
"Kaiden I'm sorry, okay? I was angry I didn't mean to." He said his voice cracking.
"I miss him so much." I cried as the tears began streaming down my cheeks.
"I didn't know him but I think what he did was noble if that helps." Xavier forcefully smiled.
I stepped forward and wrapped my arms around Xavier crying into his shoulder.
I haven't cried in front of anyone in a while. It was nice to kinda vent a little.
Xavier hesitantly wrapped his arms around me returning the hug.
"I just wish it was me instead of him." I cried tightening my grip around Xavier.
"It's okay." Xavier said softly.
I quickly backed up and turned away.
"Let's go." I said sternly
"Y-Yeah." Xavier said starting to walk.
We walked to Xavier's house since it was closer.
"See ya." I said holding out my hand.
"Yeah." Kaiden smiled doing our little bro handshake.
I checked my phone 11:21 PM.
I walked into my house and was quickly bombarded by the parental units.
"Where have you been young man?!?" My mother said pointing her finger at me.
"You stink to." My step dad said sitting on the couch.
"Where were you?" My mother said softer putting her hands on my shoulders.
I looked down at her expressionless. I probably had puffy eyes and bags but I didn't care.
"I went to a party but I left." I said flatly.
"Kaiden why didn't you tell me?" My mother said turning and walking into the kitchen motioning for me to follow.
"I didn't want to." I said plainly.
"Well I want you to. You can't just go out like that and not tell us! I almost called the police!"
She placed a plate of food on the table as I sat down.
"Thanks." I said before starting to eat.
My mother sighed before going to the living room.
"I don't know what I'm gonna do." She said to my step dad.
"He'll be fine nothing is wrong with him. It's just his rebellious faze." My stepdad responded dryly
"That's not what I mean! He's stopped eating, talking, his grades are dropping and I don't know what I'm supposed to do." Moms voice cracked like she was crying.
I squeezed my eyes shut trying not to listen. I hated when my mom cried because she was the most important thing to me and I couldn't bare to see her cry.
I got up and threw away my plate of food before going into my room.
