Xavier P.O.V

I looked forward very uncomfortable and irritated.

I didn't want to talk to those girls, I didn't like those girls, and that Christie chick was disgusting. Hanging all over Kaiden.

Tch

I bet after he leaves my house he's gonna go check up on his booty call invitation.

"You—"

"I'm fine." I interrupted cold and sharp.

I don't know why I'm angry at him or angry at all. Kaiden's just being a guy.

Snow started falling slowly. When I pulled into the driveway the snow fell faster and a few inches already laced the ground.

I got out the car and slowly trudged through the snow.

I barely made it half way and Kaiden is bouncing up and down at the door.

"Jesus." I chuckled

Finally unlocking the door we walked in.

I stopped dead in my tracks the instant I walked in.

"Mom?"

"Xavier! Sweetheart!" My mom jumped up smiling.

She held her arms out wide waiting.

I slowly shook my head.

"No..."

I looked around quickly before heading towards my room. Kaiden followed.

"Xavier!" She called.

I shut my door behind us.

I sat down on my bed with a sigh.

"It's getting late. You might wanna leave."

"Xavier, are y—"

"I'm fine." I answered sharply.

I hope the same tactic would work from when we were in the car.

"No! You don't get to act all weird then basically tell me to leave! I want an explanation."

"Kaiden ple-"

"I deserve an explanation."

Kaiden now stood in front of me as I sat on the bed.

"Okay..." I sighed

Kaiden looked surprised at the lack of defiance.

"Please sit down... You're intimidating standing over me."

Kaiden sat down next to me.

"I just... haven't seen my mom in years and all of a sudden she shows up and expects me to just..."

A lump formed in my throat. These bad memories rushed back to me that I thought I'd forgotten long ago.

I felt Kaiden reach an arm around and rest it on my shoulder supporting me.

"She expects me to just act like none of that happened."

The tears started falling and with every one I wiped at my face trying to make them stop but the didn't.

"Rewinding time is impossible but do-over's aren't. Sometimes we need another chance to do something right the second time that we got wrong the first time."

"I guess." I smiled

I scooted closer to Kaiden our bodies pushed together. Kaiden tensed up when I laid my head down on his shoulder but after a few seconds he relaxed.

"Hey Kaiden..."

"Yeah?"

"Do you ever get lonely even when your surrounded by people you love?"

"Yeah, all the time."

I looked up at Kaiden. When Kaiden looked down at me I studied the features of his face.

He wasn't perfect but it was him and he was the closest thing to perfect I could imagine.
