My other classes go by quickly and before I know it it's lunchtime. I follow the crowds of students making their way to go get a bite to eat and arrive into the cafeteria. Even though I'm not required to go to lunch, since I have no classes afterward, I still make my way into the lunch room to meet up with Maddie and her friends. I figure this is the best way to meet some new people and start making some version of a social life for myself rather than just sitting at home with Aunt June all the time. The lunchroom is gorgeous. There are glass windows, which are all open right now, all around the walls making you feel like you're actually sitting outside with the palm trees and greenery surrounding the room. Maddie's perched at a table with two other beautiful girls. One has short light blonde hair hanging over her shoulders with striking blue eyes, and the other has long almost black french braids running down her back. I notice that their outfits match the same sort of style that a lot of people I've seen around California wear, mom jeans with white converse and some sort of nice looking top. Come to think of it, a lot of people in this school are good looking. Living in California, they all sport dark tans, and most have close to perfect bodies. Immediately my mind flashes to Grayson and I imagine that if his body matches his face, then it's probably perfect as well. I shake him out of my mind. Sure, he's cute, but he's just another popular "bad boy" that all the girls swoon over. I will not be one of those girls. Not to mention that I'm supposed to be mad at him for getting all up in my face in the hallway. I'm not usually one to hold grudges, but honestly that was so unnecessary. Sitting with him in chemistry wasn't terrible since we didn't talk for 90 percent of the time and just listened to the teacher go on and on about polyatomic ions.

Maddie spots me as I'm walking towards their table and a smile appears on her face. She waves ecstatically.

"Teagan!" She shouts at me. "Come sit with us!" I follow her orders and soon enough I'm standing next to the three girls at the grey table. "Hi! So good to see you again. This is Leila," The blonde haired girl waves. "and this is Samantha."

"You can call me Sam." Sam smiles and I notice the dark makeup sitting around her eyes.

"I'm Teagan. Nice to meet you guys." I start to make casual conversation with the girls. They're all actually really funny and sweet, and I'm thankful that Maddie introduced me to them, and that I met Maddie in the first place. I got lucky. Usually, when I start at new schools all the weird people want to befriend me, but this time is different. I can tell the group of girls aren't that popular, but they sure as heck aren't weird, and they've even received waves from a lot of other students, indicating that they know a lot of people.

"So Teagan," Leila starts, pulling me from my thoughts. "You should come to this party on Friday. It's gonna be huge, the whole school will be there." I debate if I should go in my head. I'm sure the party will be fun and Aunt Juniper won't hesitate to let me go, not to mention she won't even be home on Friday, but I'm not sure if I want to be under the influence around a bunch of people I don't know. I reason with myself and reply.

"I'll for sure be there. Would you guys wanna get ready at my house?" Maybe this party will be the perfect chance for me to get my name floating around the school so I'm not "the new girl" anymore and instead just "Teagan". The girls agree to get ready at my house, and we all exchange numbers so I can text them the address and talk about plans. It's only Wednesday, but we want to be prepared.

The bell rings, indicating that lunch has ended, and I wave goodbye to my new friends before heading out into the parking lot where I left my car this morning. I make it to my car pretty quickly and begin climbing into my black BMW until I hear a familiar voice saying something from the car right next to me.

"Skipping class?" Grayson says with a deep voice. I flip around and push my hair behind my ear. I look at his broad muscly shoulders and 6'3' height standing next to a black range rover parked next to my car.
