The next days of school went by relatively quickly, and I'd managed to get most of my homework done during my off periods. Now, Leila, Maddie, Sam, and I are all sitting around my vanity trying to do our makeup. I'd settled on a neutral look, not much different than what I'd usually do, but I added a bit more eyeshadow and some black liner to accentuate my blue eyes a little more. I take a look at my short blonde hair, which curled lightly. I normally straighten it, so this is a bit different for me. Paired with a sheer shiny top with a lacy bralette underneath and some high waisted blue jeans, I'd say I look pretty good. Most of the girls are wearing similar makeup looks to mine, besides Sam who goes for her classic smokey eye. Leila's borrowed a shiny dress from my closet, Maddie's wearing a tight fitted black dress with a jean jacket, and Sam has opted for a pair of black jeans with a band t-shirt a jean jacket as well. We all top off our outfits with a cute pair of sunglasses, and Sam and I throw on our usual white sneakers while Leila and Maddie strap on some heels.
"Damn we look good." We all laugh at Leila's comment as we look at ourselves in the mirror before heading downstairs. Maddie offers to drive, and the four of us head outside and get into her Mercedes.
"So who is throwing this party anyway?" I ask the girls.
"Some random dude who goes to our school. I think his name is Luca?" Sam replies. I nod my head in response and stare out the window. I haven't had any more confrontation with Gray, but a small part of me wonders if he'll be at the party. He and his friends seem like the kind of guys who would drink and party, but I'm not making any assumptions. I haven't told the girls about what happened with Gray, and I'm not planning on it. He's an irrelevant asshole who does not deserve my energy, and I silently curse myself for even wondering if he'll be there.
"I think it's up this way," Sam says from the passenger seat, directing Maddie. We take a right turn, and soon enough I see the lines of cars parked on the road. The house is gigantic, and cars are lined up down the long driveway. I can see a couple of people standing outside of the house with solo cups, and the walls are almost vibrating from how loud the music is. It's a good thing this house is very isolated since it would probably get busted by the cops if it wasn't. We find a place to park after looking for about five minutes, and then we step out of the car and onto the road. We make our way up the driveway, and only then do I realize just how packed the home is. There are people everywhere. We push through some tall guys and finally step into the house. The nice leather furniture has been moved off to the side to form a sort of dance floor, and there are multiple kegs sitting around throughout the household. I can see that a lot of people are already drunk. I feel a little awkward since I recognize essentially no one, but I'm grateful to have my few friends with me.
"Let's get some drinks." Maddie smiles. we head over to the kitchen which has been transformed into a drink making station. I make us a couple of mixed drinks and hand them out. We begin to sip on the drinks, and I watch the chaos of the dancefloor. There are a handful of clearly wasted girls, dressed in basically nothing, grinding up against smiling boys. I recognize one of them as Aron, the boy I'd seen with Gray. That means the asshole must be here too. Great. I look around and notice that all of my companions are gone too. Also great. The anxiety of having no one to talk to sets in as I stand awkwardly in the kitchen. I finish my drink and pour myself three or four shots to loosen my nerves. Maybe if I'm a little tipsier I'll be able to talk to some new people myself. I'm normally a lightweight, so the lack of drunkness I'm feeling is a bit surprising as I start walking around the house looking for any of the girls I know.
I walk through the crowds of people. This house is really big, but my friends couldn't have gone that far. I see Sam talking to some random guy, and I start to walk towards them until they turn in the opposite direction of me and get lost in the crowd. Shit. Then I see him. Grayson. He's standing with the other guy I'd met, Liam, and they're talking and laughing. They're both holding red solo cups. So he does drink. I continue walking towards the boys since I have to pass them to go where Sam did.
