Gray leaves pretty soon after that, and I start working on some homework. Not long after I receive a text from Maddie.
Hey, you're going tomorrow right?
I shoot her a text back.
Yeah, I think so.
She responds quickly.
Wanna get ready together?
I'm typing back when another text comes through from Grayson.
Hey, let me give you a ride tomorrow?
My heart flutters at the gesture, but I know deep down that Maddie will question me. On the other hand, Gray's been so nice to me this week, and I don't wanna miss out on hanging out with him, not to mention the idea of seeing him shirtless forms butterflies in my stomach. I respond to Maddie first.
I think I'll just get ready alone this time, I'll see you there though!
Then to Grayson.
Sure, pick me up at one. See you then.
He replies as soon as I text him.
Can't wait. :)
My heart flutters yet again as I read Gray's text. I'm still confused what the hell is going on since I'm almost sure that he doesn't have feelings for me, not to mention that Maddie has a crush on him. I'm hoping that she won't see Gray and me driving to the lagoon together, but nothing can stop the butterflies flying around in my stomach when I think about getting to spend some alone time with him.
I finish up my homework and hop in the shower letting the warm water wash off the events of the day. I can still see the hand shaped bruises around my wrists, and I hope no one will notice them tomorrow. I know that I'll be able to create an excuse easily, I have a lot of experience explaining weird bruises, but that doesn't mean I want to. I get out of the shower and throw on a t-shirt and some sweatpants before hopping into bed. I put on some Netflix and watch a couple of episodes until I fall asleep.
I wake up the next day around 11:30, giving me plenty of time to get ready for the party. My hair falls over my shoulders in its natural beachy waves and I leave it that way since, if what I've heard the lagoon is true, I'll be going swimming. For the same reason, I decided to leave my face without any makeup. Normally I'll straighten or curl my hair and throw on some makeup, but I'm not worried about going natural. I grab a white two-piece out of my dresser and pair it with a large white t-shirt and some jean shorts. It's simple, but it looks cute enough. I hear a ding sound from my phone on the bedside table. It's Gray.
Be there in 5.
I walk down to the fridge and grab a juice from one of the shelves and start to drink it when I hear a loud rev from outside my house. Gray. When I open my door, I'm surprised by the view of a black Porsche sitting in my driveway. I grab my bag and jog over to the car.
"Where's your car?" I say as I hop into the passenger side.
"What you mean the Range Rover?" He starts to back out. I nod. "That is not my car. Mine was in the shop so I was driving my sisters." Damn, how rich is this guys family?
"Oh," I respond quickly. The silence in the car makes me squirm in my seat. Gray notices this and turns up the radio a little bit.
"You look different." He states plainly. I'm not sure whether or not to take this as a compliment.
"Well, I'm not wearing any makeup." He keeps his eyes on the road and smiles.
"I like it."
"So how far is this lagoon place?"
