I follow behind Gray as we walk to his car in silence. Obviously, I'm not up for much conversation, and Gray keeps looking back at me with a look of worry in his eyes. When we reach his car, he opens the passenger side door for me first before heading over to his side of the car and hopping in. The engine revs as the car starts up and Gray begins to back out.
"So are you gonna tell me what's going on?" Grays says as gently as possible.
"Nothing's going on. I just don't feel good." He nods while looking at the road. We drive in silence for about ten minutes before Gray speaks again.
"I'm serious Teagan what happened?"
"Nothing," I say shortly.
"Are you sure?" He pries.
"Yes. I just wanna go home okay." I feel bad for lying to Gray. I feel so close to him and as if I should tell him everything, but I know that this is for the best. I'll just be getting him and myself into trouble if I say anything.
We arrive at my house quickly, and I step out of the car as fast as possible. I begin to walk towards my front door when I hear the driver's side door slam.
"Teagan." I keep walking. "Teagan wait." I keep walking.
"Just leave me alone Gray." I make it to my front porch and try to slam the door, but Gray's strong arm stops it from completely shutting. I give up and walk into my house and up the stairs. I can hear Gray's steady footsteps behind me the whole time. I attempt to ignore them and walk into my room. where the footsteps follow. I grab some sweatpants and throw them on over my bikini bottoms, I also notice that Gray is wearing a pair of cloth shorts rather than his swim trunks. He must've changed while I was gone. I look at him in the eyes. He takes a step closer to me. I take a step back.
"I know something's up. Why won't you tell me?"
"Because there's nothing to tell."
"We both know that's a lie."
"Fuck Gray." I run my hands over my face. "How long have I known you? A week or two? You can't just all the sudden expect me to trust you with anything!"
"Teagan it's okay," He takes a couple of steps toward me, and I move in the opposite direction until my back is against the wall to the right of my bed. Gray continues to move toward me, closing the space between us. "Don't you trust me?"
"Yes- Maybe- I don't know okay? I don't know what's happening here or anything about you or why you're here right now or why you all of the sudden are acting like you care about me." The small amount of air between us becomes smaller and smaller.
"Because I do."
"Well, what if I don't want you to?" It sounds small coming out of my mouth as I realize Gray's face is only a couple of inches away from mine.
"You really feel that way?." His voice is low and serious, and I'm about to respond when Gray reaches his hand out and grabs my right hip, pulling me a little closer to him. His eyes are darting all over my face, and I shake my head quickly to answer his question, no. Smoothly, Gray grabs both sides of my face and pulls my lips against his. The butterflies in my stomach are gone as soon as they form because Gray pulls away quickly. "Fuck, I'm sorry I shouldn't have done that." His face is still a short distance away from mine as he runs a hand through his hair. It hits me at that moment that everything I've been feeling towards Gray is so much more than friendly. I just want more, and I don't know why I feel that way, but it's enough to make me wrap my arms around his neck and pull his lips back into mine. Everything that's happened in the past hour slips out of my mind as his lips move against mine rhythmically. I feel his cold hands trace gently down the sides of my arms, leaving goosebumps trailing after his fingertips. I pull his larger frame further towards mine, closing the space between us further. Gray takes this as an invitation to leave behind any apprehension that he had about us kissing and wraps his arms around my back tightly, somehow pulling me even closer to him. All I can focus on at that moment is how good of a kisser he is, and the mouth-watering smell of him around me. He moves his hands to my waist and pulls me into him before removing his mouth from my lips. I'm disappointed that the kiss is over until I feel a euphoric sensation erupt through my body as he places gentle kisses all over my collar bone and neck. A small moan escapes my mouth as Gray leaves a love bite just below my collarbone. Gray hears this and looks up at me grinning widely. His grey eyes are visibly darker and filled with passion. He smashes his lips back into mine and pushes himself against me again. Something about it feels so right like we fit together perfectly. He wraps his hands around my thighs and picks me up before spinning me around and placing me gently onto my bed. We move together, our lips in sync and our bodies meshing together. I grab the bottom of Gray's t-shirt and pull it up over his head, allowing me to run my hands over his sculpted torso. I pull away for a moment and just look at him, noticing two scars, about two inches long each, that run diagonally across his chest, and run my fingers over them.
"What're these from?" I whisper.
"Nothing important," Gray responds quickly through his quick breathing before moving his mouth to my neck again while running a hand underneath my shirt. He pulls away completely, looking in my eyes for permission, I nod, and he kisses me passionately while slowly edging my large t-shirt up my torso, over my shoulders, and finally over my head. I keep my eyes closed as Gray pulls away from my mouth once more, but this time, he doesn't place his mouth back down.
"What the fuck is this?" I'm brought back to my harsh reality as Gray speaks.
"Shit." I look down at my bare stomach where a humongous nasty looking bruise sits.
"Are these-" The anger in his worse makes it difficult for him to speak. "From punches?"
"Please, Gray. Don't freak out."
"Don't freak out? Don't freak out?" He grabs my waist and turns me over in his hands easily inspecting the bruises more closely. "What the fuck do you want me to do T? Just let shit like this happen to you?" He stands up abruptly and runs a hand through his hair, still staring at me. "Who the fuck did that to you? Tell me."
"Seriously Gray, it's not a big deal."
"Look at yourself Teagan. There's a bruise covering your whole stomach from where somebody hit you! Tell me who the fuck did this to you!" I stand up quickly.
"Gray. It's okay." He looks at me furiously. I grab one of his hands. Immediately his fury turns to remorse.
"I can't let shit like this happen to you T. I can't watch you get hurt, I can't." He grabs both sides of my face, forcing me to look him in the eyes, before tucking a piece of hair behind my ear. "Please, let me do something about this. I won't let anything happen to you." Finally, I give in.
"It was two guys." His shoulders clench intensely at my words, but his eyes and his grip on my face remain gentle. "Maddie and Sam went to get drinks and I was coming back to you and they just grabbed me and told me that you'd broken Luca's nose and that they couldn't get to you but I couldn't do anything and then the one guy, Darell, he held my arms behind my back while the other black haired one just hit me."
Gray let's go of me, and the anger that had been radiating off of him before is not even remotely as terrifying as the stone cold look he gives me at that moment. "Will you wait for me here?" He says calmly and starts away, throwing his t-shirt back over his head. I don't even get the chance to answer before he walks out of my room, slamming the door behind him.
