Virginia's POV

I park my car, a nice white Jeep, right in front of my new apartment.

I can't believe that my dream is finally becoming reality.

I've just moved to the city where I've always wanted to move.

I'm here to study what I love, in a super nice apartment in west Hollywood that I will be sharing with Camila, one of my friends from high school.

Camila and I have never really been that close.

We used to hang out in the same group of friends but we have never had the chance to become good friends, also because she's one year older than me.

She moved here exactly one year ago to study at UCLA and when I found out that she needed a new roommate I decided to contact her and move here.

My new home is in a crowded neighborhood in LA and it might seem strange, but it is one of the quietest zones of this hectic city.

Our apartment is at the 7th floor of a huge building.

From the balcony we have a great view over the city centre where all the skyscrapers are.

At least that is what I had imagined, in fact, as soon as I enter in the apartment I see that all our windows overlook other apartment buildings, by which we are surrounded.

I do not waste any of my time complaining about this, because this place is stunning, Camila truly does have great taste in interior design.

I manage to spot some beautiful pictures hanging on the walls and I think I will have to ask the girl more about them, before a storm of blonde hair pounces onto me.

Camila has always been outgoing and affectionate, but I was not expecting such a warm welcome.

It is good though not having to worry about the first impression you make on your new roommate, when they already love you.

I remember her for being down to earth, although her appearance has always suggested me a dreamer.

Her voice is excited when she says:

'How was the journey Virginia? I'm so happy that you're here! I haven't seen you in ages darling!'

' Ehy Cami, how are you? My flight went well, no delays for once! By the way I'll never stop thanking you for hosting me here, this place is stunning!' I say almost as excited as her.

'No problem, I was feeling so lonely living here by myself!' she rolls her eyes.

We sit at the kitchen table and while drinking a tea we catch up a little on our lives.

Apparently, she is studying Arts at college.

I thought she chose English literature, but I do not tell her, it is just my bad memory as usually.

Thirty minutes later, she leaves the apartment and I am finally alone.

I get out of the car and take all my boxes and luggage into the apartment.

Right when I get in I realize once again how beautiful this place is.

Of course I had seen it in pictures before but in real life it looks way nicer and very cozy.

I would define it a white and wooded apartment.

Camila shows me my room.

It's not very big but I really like the light in here.

I start unpacking my stuff but then I get tired, so I make the effort to put together my bed, this way I'll have somewhere to sleep at night.

When I check the clock on the wall next to the window, it's already 9 pm

When I check the clock on the wall next to the window, it's already 9 pm.

I've been decorating my room for the last two hours.

I'm not satisfied yet but that's it for today.

I decide to put on my pyjamas and just watch some Netflix .

I feel exhausted and by 10:30 pm I'm asleep.

The next day

My alarm goes off, I turn around in my bed to check the time and it's 9 am.

I hear a subtle sound and realize that Lucifer is still playing on my laptop.

I check my phone and see a message from an unknown number:

Unknown number: Hey! I saw that you just moved to LA. We have to meet ASAP

Virginia: Hey sorry but I'm not sure I know who you are.

Unknown number: Oh sorry it's Zane Hijazi from Roger high school, remember? We have to do a reunion with Camila too

Virginia: omg sorry. Yes we totally have to

Unknown number: perf. Wanna come to my place tonight? Some of my friends will be there too.

Virginia: sure send me the address.

I close my phone and take a quick shower in the small bathroom.

Now I'm ready to start my first day in the magical LA.
