Suggested song: Heaven by Justine Skye
It's morning and I get up from my bed still feeling pretty weak on my legs.
Waking up in Matt sweatshirt makes me feel protected and I find myself smiling while looking at it in the mirror. I'm surronded by his smell.
I have to go to school earlier today because my first course is scheduled at 8:45, marketing class.
I will also finally hand in the Italian essay that has been stressing me out for the past week.
I spend the whole morning at school, half the time listening to what the tachers are saying and the other half staring out of the window.
I'm craving being outside and always be doing some sport activities in the afternoons as I used to back in Minnesota.
My only consolation is that today it is Friday and I have two days off ahead of me.
It's around lunch time and I'm already sitting at my table in the corner waiting for Aria to show up when I hear my phone ringing.
My hand rushes to the right pocket of my jeans, but my phone is not there.
What the f ? I breath a sigh of relief when my hand meets it in my backpack.
It's Zane.
'Baby what are you doing?' I can hear the smile in his voice. How come he's so happy?
'I'm about to have lunch with a friend. What's up? ' I answer.
' Can't you cancel your plans? We are waiting for you at Shake and shack, don't you want to spend some time with me?' Of course I do, after having heard his baby voice asking.
'Is Matt there?' I ask as I need more than ever to talk with him about last night. Why does Jeff always have to get between us?
It's not my fault this time and neither it was last time when me and Jeff studied together.
Yesterday I specifically told him not to come over, because I could manage to end that damn homework by myself, but he never follows the rules, why should he listen to me?
'No, he's home' That's too bad.
I really hope he's not home because of me, but I know he isn't this type of guy unlikely someone else I know.
'Ok, I'll be there in 10' I hang up. I'm sorry I won't see Aria today.
We haven't actually set a time to see each other every day. I swear next week I'll spend every break with that girl.
I call an Uber and in 10 minutes I am myself out of the restaurant. It's a simple and ordinary place.
I get in and as my eyes adjust to the low lights I spot Zane waving at me and reach his booth.
I cannot help but notice Jeff looking particularly good today.
He may have slept last night, for once.
