B U N N Y
"Flight to Poarisia, India is now boarding."
"That's me," I thought to myself as I gather my luggage following the other passengers in line. As I'm waiting I pulls out my phone—examining my appearance in the camera. My pink locks were now the color of platinum silver and fixed into a top knot-half down style whilst leaving out my short bangs. I was dressed in a pink halter, backless crop top with a matching set of shorts, and a pair of pink heels. I wanted to look my best when reuniting with my friends and family.
When arriving at the front, I hand my boarding pass to the flight attendant.
"Enjoy your flight,"she smiles before tending the next person behind me.
While on the plane I thought of everything that I was going to miss from back home. As I reminisce on our last night together, I begin to fall asleep—slowly, and then all at once.
Suddenly, I was awakened by the flight attendant informing us on our landing in fifteen minutes. I packed up my laptop and put away my headphones—waiting to land.
I walk out of the airport placing on my sunglasses whilst breathing in the fresh scent. It hasn't changed a bit.
Rolling my luggage towards the curb, I notice his midnight black curls and his dark brown eyes, framed by graceful brows. His skin was tanned. He had prominent cheekbones and a well-defined chin and nose. Muscles rippled across every part of his body.
He wears a white hoodie and black sweatpants as he stands endlessly grinning next to his pure black Chevrolet Camaro holding up a sign imprinted with my name.
Without hesitation, Jesse wraps me in a warm swaddle of his chest and arms. God, I missed him!
"Look At you!"He twirls me around taking in every feature.
"Come on. I haven't changed that much," I giggle as I once again find myself lock in his embrace.
"I missed you." I look up to him and smile, "I missed you too."
Jesse and I practically grew up in the same household. We were partners in crime—inseparable. He's been crushing on me ever since middle school. Clearly not interested, I loved watching him make a fool out of himself.
"Alright, enough mushy talk. I need to get you home before Natiyah murders me."
Natiyah's my younger sister.
I smile handing over my two suitcases —even though I'm here for two nights I had to overpack for my flight to Saint Harper, Connecticut to meet up with Kat and Gabriel, who is also bringing along Will. We planned to spend our last two days of break there together. So I'm definitely excited.
On the road Jesse caught me on what's been going on while I've been away and I explain my college life. It wasn't long before the symptoms of jet lag took over my body and I was out.
A nudge to my ribs makes me jerk awake to see Jesse's smiling face. How long was I out?
"Sorry to wake you sleeping beauty but we're here." He pokes my side. Still half dead, he smiles swinging me up in his strong arms as if I was nothing more than a ragdoll and carries me inside.
"Bunny!!" Clearly the loud squealing came from Natiyah.
My sister, her shiny black hair, her dimples, her beautiful brown eyes. Growing up we were so close. It was great. But now that we're young adults and my moving out, our lives have separated in too many ways.
