-Chapter Sixteen-

When Alan had come back he had seemed shocked at the sight of me, I knew I looked bad because of all the blood that was coating the floor and walls now. The man from earlier had walked out of here with red hands and blood on his shirt and on his shoes. Alan’s eyes instantly turned a blood red as he turned on the man who had been holding him snarling at the man.

“You said no one would hurt him!” He managed to maneuver the chains binding him around the man’s neck who seemed terrified.

“I don’t know who hurt him!” He insisted. “No one was supposed to come in here while we were questioning you.”

I could tell he wasn’t lying and so could Alan because he let him go turning to the door ready to find the man and kill him for what he had done, but another man came in taking hold of Alan and tossing him to the other side of the room with no problems whatsoever chaining him to the wall even when Alan tried to pull out of the chains they wouldn’t budge.

“Get out of here, Gabriel,” he told the man who Alan had attacked first. He ran out.

“Keep your bloody men in check,” Alan warned.

“Or what?” He growled.

“I will,” Alan threatened.

He barked out laughter which made Alan try to go for him neck ignoring the chains he almost had the man if he had not taken a step back avoiding Alan by an inch. He stepped out of the room his cruel laughter ringing in our ears then Alan looked to me with red eyes.

“Who did that to you?” He demanded and I simply shook my head refusing to answer. “Who hurt you Ciel?! Did they touch you? Answer the fucking questions, Ciel!”

“No, they didn’t touch me like you’re implying,” I answered.

“Who did it?” He growled.

“No one,” I replied looking down at my bruised arms along with crusted blood.

“Ciel, tell me or I’ll-”

“You’re chained to the wall in chains made to prevent the strongest of us from getting free,” I mumbled. “You wouldn’t be able to do anything anyways. Leave it alone. They’ll take you away and he’ll come in to continue his job.”

“No,” he snarled. “I won’t let it happen.”

“That’s our job!” I snarled at him knowing my teeth sharpened and my eyes shifted their color as I glared him down. “That’s what we came here for and if you threaten the mission I have orders to kill you...I don’t want to...but if I have to I will.”

He remained silent after that bowing his head as he slowly sat down with his head on both his arms, I’d never seen Alan seem more defeated than he was now. I sat on the opposite side of the room my head rested on my arms too, but my side of the room was coated with blood from the highest points of the walls to the ground around me. Like some wounded animal had been dragged around the walls and floor. That animal was me.

After hours of silence a woman in her late twenties came in with water for us both, at first Alan refused to drink until she finally murmured something that made him reluctantly drink the water then she came to me letting me drink the rest which was more than half. I drank it willingly. She looked at me with sad eyes.

“They weren’t supposed to hurt you,” she mumbled quietly.

“I’m used to being hurt,” I answered reassuringly.
