Once a door closes, a new one opens || Ritsu x reader fan fiction {WIP}

Chapter 6

I woke up, feeling quite refreshed. I stood up from the bed, my feet touching the cold floor. I shivered from that, but i shrugged it off. I changed into my school uniform, combed my hair and brushed my teeth. I put on my backpack, put on some adidas shoes and went outside to go to school.

The walk was quite peaceful, the birds were singing and it was relaxing. I saw the brothers passing by, but they didn't notice me. I didn't bother going up to them. I got to the school gates and went in, going to my room. I sat in my seat, put the backpack on the floor and got out the books and notebooks i needed for this class. Most of the time i just played with my pen, until a sudden memory from before hit me.

It was last year, before switching schools again. I finally managed to socialize, but as they say in some songs, they build you up, to watch you fall, don't they? That exactly happened. I started getting made fun of and eventually all my friends left and me alone and they bullied me as well. That's when i realized i was alone, i had no one. I tried to get support by other people. It never helped. They never helped me properly. And here i am in another school once again, knowing only two people. Them being Ritsu and his brother. After all i'll probably end up changing schools again, so i tried not to get that close to them. Who knows, they could stab my back.

I sighed. The teacher came and i started writing down the lesson. I noticed with the corner of my eye, the raven haired boy giving me glances. When lunch break started i packed my stuff and went on the school roof. It's peaceful there and it was relaxing. I realized i didn't bring any lunch, but it wasn't much of a problem at all. I stared at the sky. Until i heard someone coming. I got startled a bit and turned my head around. I noticed Ritsu.

"May i?'' I nodded yes and he came next to me and sat down.

''Don't you have lunch?'' I nodded no and he hummed in response. ''Well, i can share if you want.'' He grinned.
''I'm not really hungry, but i appreciate it.'' He nodded and started eating his lunch.

I resumed my sky watching until he spoke up.

''Why do you isolate yourself from people?'' The question kind of shook me, but it was expected.
''Well... Long story short, used to people stabbing my back. I'd rather not get hurt like that anymore, so i started isolating myself.'' He simply nodded in response.

The silence was awkward, since we didn't talk anymore for the rest of the lunch break. The first bell rang so i got up and got my stuff. He did the same and we went back to the classroom. The next classes were pretty boring, gotta say. Just the same old things we learned in the lower grades. I started playing with my pen again, until i realized, that i'm buying the pet today. I smiled at myself at the thought.

After school ended i packed up my stuff and went to a nearby pet store, got the wallet from my backpack and bought a cage, feeding tanks (i don't know the names ;w;). There was only one parrot left and he didn't look in the best condition, though they said he was healthy. I bought him and they gave me the bird in a cardboard box. The things were pretty tough to lift, since i had to hold a cage, feeding tanks and the bird. I pretty much looked like an idiot on the streets, but i didn't care. At some point he would start screaming, but i continued walking.

When i arrived home i set the cage up and got him out of the cardboard box and put him in. I forgot to buy seeds so i only gave him water and tried to find leftover yen scattered around the house. Luckily i did find the yen needed so i went out again to buy the food needed for the bird.

I made a sudden encounter with Ritsu, who seemed to walk in the opposite direction of mine.

''Hey, Y/N, where are you going? I thought you were at home.''
''Oh, going out for a walk, don't worry.'' He nodded. He wanted to accompany me the walk, but i declined it and told him that i'll be fast and that it'll be boring, so we shared our goodbyes and continued the walk.

I arrived at the pet store and luckily, the worker was kind enough to give me vitamins as a bonus, which i appreciate. I payed, said goodbye and went out. I rushed back home, almost tripping on a rock. I entered and gave the bird the food. Sadly he hasn't yet adapted to his new home, so it will take him a day to start eating regularly. I left his cage open in case he wanted to go out. I sat on the couch, grabbed the remote which was nearby and turned on the TV. Skipping through channels like nothing, the bird startled me. I looked at him and i guess he adapted quick. He was already drinking water and eating, jumping from a tank to a tank. I smiled at the creature, as it continued doing whatever it wanted to.

I went upstairs to do my homework, as i had nothing else to do. Simple questions i had to answer. After i was done i browsed the internet on my phone, suffering from boredom. Watched a few youtube videos, until it became night.

I was downstairs, watching TV again, until i heard a knock on my door again. Who could it be?
