Once a door closes, a new one opens || Ritsu x reader fan fiction {WIP}

Chapter 8

I woke up on my bed, still feeling slightly drowsy. I opened my eyes. I had blurry vision during that time, so all i saw was my room blurred out and a dark figure just looking around. I closed my eyes again, thinking it's probably either the older brother, which isn't that likely, since he barely knows me, or Ritsu. To my luck, i fell asleep. The next thing i remember is being chased by the same evil spirit a while ago. I woke up and jolted up in a sitting position. I was covered in sweat, breathing heavily. My vision was still slightly blurry. I noticed the person still in the room. Not long after i woke up he walked towards me.
"Are you okay?" They asked while putting their hand on my shoulder, while crouching. I blinked a few times to finally adjust my vision.
"I suppose i'm fine.." I looked over to the figure, finally sering him properly. You guessed it, it was Ritsu. A pink tint covered my cheeks.
"Alright, good to hear that. I got worried that something happened." He said that while smilling. I smiled back, quickly followed by awkward silence and a few awkward conversations he tried to start.
After a while we heard shouting from downstairs. It was muffled, but we still made out ehat they said.
"Hey, Ritsu, we're going! Are you coming?"
"Yeah, in a second." He shouted back. I looked through the window, seeing that it was quite late. He stood up.
"Bye, Y/N!" He said, while flashibg a slight smile.
"Goodbye, Ritsu." I smiled, barely noticeable but still something. With that he exited out the room, leaving me alone. I stood up and looked over to my desk, then taking a quick glance at my backpack. Tomorrow was monday and i still haven't done my homework, so i picked the stuff i needed and quickly rushed through them, since i can't be bothered to do homework this late. But hey, i wasn't completely alone, the parrot was here, looking over what i was doing.

After that i headed to sleep.

The next day was nothing out of the ordinary. Doing my morning routine and quickly walking to school. I went in my class, earlier than everyone else. I put my backpack on the floor, took the needed books out and sat down. The class was pretty boring, so it went slow. At lunch break i ate my lunch on the rooftop, enjoying the nice view. Ritsu, not surprisingly, came and sat next to me. We talked about a few things, asking me questions and all that, but one of them caught me offguard.
"Why don't you try making friends? You are beautiful, cute, have an awesome character. You'd get social very quickly." Having a slight blush on my face, i quickly answered.
"Because... i'm scared of getting hurt again and again." Followed by silence, he hummed. The break was nearly over and without us realizing, the bell rang. He quickly grabbed my hand and rushed through the halls, running to our room. Luckily the teacher wasn't there and everyone else gave us weird looks. I went to my seat and flopped down, exhausted and panting. The rest of the day went pretty normal.

I took a longer route to home, trying to enjoy the fresh air for a little longer. Having a slow pace, i sighed. The road wasn't busy at all, which is slightly unusual, but i shrugged it off. I couldn't care less about the non-existent traffic, so i walked directly on the road.

I walked for a solid five to ten minutes until i heard honking behind me. I turned around, looking behind me, eyes widened. A truck was approaching me with high speed and the driver couldn't stop it. I froze in place, due to fear. The truck was approaching. I closed my eyes, preparing mentally for the impact, but it never came. I opened my eyes and i saw it right in front of me, millimeters away from my face. I ran to the sidewalk and bumped into someone. 

''E-excuse me!'' I said and quickly bowed. When i looked up i realized it was Ritsu. A blush would cover my face, due to embarrassment. I quickly turned away. After a few seconds i turned back to him, who was staring at me.
''Did you do that?'' He simply stared at me for another 5 seconds, before answering, getting a slight blush. 
''Well yeah..'' 
My eyes sparkled as i held myself closer to him.
''How?''
He didn't answer for a couple seconds, he opened his mouth to decide if he should tell me or not. After a while he finally spoke up.
"Well... i guess there's no turning back now. I'm an esper."
I stared at him, eyes still sparkling, not being able to decide what to say. I backed away from him, since the distance between us was very small and slightly awkward.
"Do you want me to walk you home?"
"Sure."

Despite the whole walk being silent i enjoyed it. The silence wasn't awkward, even though he looked quite stiff, like something was bothering him. I shrugged it off. Could be something from school, since it can be really stressing.

We were in front of my house.

"Do you want to come in?"

"No, it's alright. Have a good day!"

"You too." With that, he waved and started walking back.
