"Ok honey." I sag with relief. "Tim! Lacy! Come down for dinner!" They race downstairs. "God, I was hungry! What took so long mom?" Tim practically shouts. Instead of being annoyed, like I would have, my mom laughs. "I was having a talk with our Alexa here. Her choosing ceremony is tomorrow." Lacy looks at me with those giant brown eyes and says "Please don't leave! We want you here!" "Of course I'm staying here little duck!" I say, even though I'm not so sure it's true. "Good. Even though I wish your talks wouldn't take so long!" I tickle her. Lacy is only 3, but she is a little genius. We all know what her results will be, and we know what she will choose.
That night, I sleep restlessly. I don't know what the hell I am going to do tomorrow. I think. Candor is not safe for me. I will have to go under the truth serum. Amity... Well there is always an option there. I can't choose Erudite. I just can't. I have always hated them. Abnegation is an option... I guess. And Dauntless... I don't think I would survive there. "Stop!" My brain commands. "Go to bed!" I decide to make the decision when I have to, tomorrow.
